Shouldn't UNI going small and bombing away become BU's advantage with JP on the offensive end, where JP should dominate inside as well as rebounding on both ends?

This is exactly what happened when he was in the game.

In theory, yes. But we haven't shown signs of an inside game or post-oriented offense since 2006, so it probably wasn't coming out tonight.

          attendance 8,490

          Game story-
PEORIA, Ill. ? Northern Iowa sophomore guard Anthony James made his first six 3-point shots to highlight his career-high 25-point scoring effort, leading the Panthers (19-9, 10-6 MVC) to an 80-70 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball victory versus Bradley (9-18, 3-13 MVC) Tuesday night at Carver Arena.

Bradley scored 70 pts, shot close to 50% and committed 5 turnovers. You have to win with those offensive numbers. Especially at home.

Tough loss to swallow. Just as things looked "promising". Let's beat ISU and stay out of the cellar.

Bradley will usually win with the performance and effort they had tonight. It doesn't take much scrutiny to see why they didn't. The UNI fans readily admitted this was the best shooting performance they have had all season. People can blame the defense if they want, but the defense was not bad. The UNI shots were falling from 3-4 feet behind the arc. The UNI players who were on fire were all shooting in the low to mid 30's for the season from three.

I agree, but Les didn't think so as he called out the team for poor defense right from the opening tip tonight on the WMBD postgame show, including during the first half when UNI missed a lot of open looks. So maybe he was just trying to light a fire on his team for the next game, who knows.

I have the same question as well. There is a poster on this board who does the +/- for the different type of lineups that we utilize I would love to see the +/-
for tonight's game especially for the larger lineup!

Our defense was about as bad as the guy's shot was from the other free throw line while trying to win the Cadallac. As well as we moved our feet on defense against Evansville on Saturday was as bad as we moved them on defense against UNI. True UNI did make a couple of no brainers but most of their 31 3-point attempts were uncontested shots. This game looked more like the 0-11 team, not the team which had won 3 of its last 4.

You can't possibly believe this to be true.

Go back and watch the tape of the game...I've never seen a BU team give up that many uncontested threes...Anthony James is still waiting for someone in a white jersey to be within 4 feet of him when he takes a three...

Sometimes a team just hits a bunch of tough shots on you and there's not much you can do about it...tonight was NOT one of those times...

Yes DC, the defense was that bad. James wasn't hitting contested shots. If you're gonna use the 2-3 zone, save it for my team. We promise not to make open shots.

DC if you can convince our faithful that our defense wasn't bad last night more power to ya. There is only one other person who might believe that and we won't have to guess who that might be. Yes they did make several prayers but the majority of the time Mark Scott was closer to the shooter then any of our defenders. We knew this was a game that was winnable the way we've been playing but the bottom line is the Dec, Jan team showed up not the Feb. team. Lets win out and go into St. L. on a positive note. Go Braves

Just read where the Braves were up 6 with 13 to go....thats the last time JP saw on the floor?
In my world JP's basketball IQ is too high to be sitting on the bench if not for foul trouble /injury...help could have helped on both ends of the court!
