  • AW

Just listened to a radio interview AW did back on February 8th on XL950 out of Indianapolis. It is on Bradley all access. He talked about how the team has hung together after the loss of SM and TB. He thinks the coaches have done a great job of keeping the team focused and together. He said that anything can happen in Arch Madness and that any team can win it if they are playing well at this time of year. Talked about how he had hoped his Sr year would be special with the talent Bradley had coming back but that he is making the best of it. He talked about his dream to play pro ball in the US or over seas.

He is such a great kid, he makes me proud to be a Bradley fan. If you have the all access you should give it a listen.

I don't want to start a JL hate post but after listening to AW and looking at the way Bradley is playing today I think Jim should get another year. I think he should get a chance with a complete and healthy team.

I think we can all agree about Andrew Warren. What a great kid. Fans will miss him. If not for the fact that the Player of the Year always comes from a player on a top team, Andrew would probably be the MVC POY this year. He is averaging 19.0 ppg, more than 2 ppg more than the next player, and one of highest averages and one of the widest margins in years. But he has become a more comlete player. Despite defenses geared to stop Andrew, he is 7th in 3-point percentage. He is the team's leading rebounder, and averages 5.6 rpg, 11th in the league- tops among guards in the MVC, and he is 6th in the MVC in defensive rebounds. He is the top free throw shooter in the MVC at 88.6%. He is #2 in the MVC in steals. And he has been #1 in minutes played all season.

And though we won't allow this thread to turn into a discussion about the coach, I agree with you about Jim, and I think he will be back next year, and Bradley will compete for a championship.

I like this line -- well said mex. I completely agree. There are certain players who just have a connection with the BU family, more than others. Forget stats - AW and DD are two of the best men we have had in Peoria in recent memory. Jim should be proud for having helped develop these two guys into fine human beings.

I had the pleasure of meeting AW's mom when I went to the Duke game. All I can say is the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Great lady and a great example for AW.

As is Andrew's father. I first met Andrew's dad during the CBI tournament in Tulsa, and have enjoyed every opportunity to talk with him since then (home games, St. Louis, etc). When we spoke earlier this year, he expressed Andrew's frustration with how the season was going. Hopefully, the team (and Andrew) can finish the season on a high note!

Yes. Stories like this are what makes me proud to be a Bradley basketball fan and a member of the Bradley alumni. I would gladly trade in a few wins and a cheating administration (see Kentucky, Memphis, last decade Indiana, etc.) for a clean program like ours that develops players into fine citizens for the rest of their lives. Les has done a fine job in that regard and he should be commended for it. After all, isn't that what the definition of a student athlete is all about?

Is it too late red shirt him and win it all next year?
