The vast majority of teams I've seen in college basketball make the decision to not foul in that spot.
I think it was a poor decision, plain and simple, and the coach is ultimately to blame for the poor decision. But also, I'm not one to lynch someone for a single mistake. I'll need consistent flaws before I do that (whether or not there are consistent flaws with Les is an argument I'll leave to the rest of you )
Well said....and lord forbid we discuss and give our opinions on what we saw and how we feel. This isn't world peace or Nuclear arms decisons but you'd think we were smack dab in the middle of Egypt with how peoplem get all upset for talking about the game.
We are ALL armchair QB's....thats what makes it so much fun...at least it SHOULD be.
I too think fouling was a mistake but other then that it WAS a good game by the Braves and they appear to be "buying in'.....
and yet instantly we pick apart some minute factor and lay blame on someone's lap....please...let's act like fans and enjoy your team's hard play - even in a loss.
Serious question...WHY.
Why does it have to be the way YOU want it. Are YOU happy. Great. If you feel the game was coached like it should have been..great...some saw it differently. WHY is that so wrong or bad?
Why can't we appreciate the diversity and let fans express their individual feelings and debate the merits of the argument vs advising people how they should feel ?
This is the inherent problem with what goes on here. See it MY way, react like I would or you are wrong.
Quit telling people how they should feel and react after a game.....Jeesh.
Man it is a sports form and the stratagy of the game is being discussed no one is blaming the play for a lose or putting the blame on anyone just discussing the reasoning for a decision.
And btw it was not a minute factor. By fouling with that much time on the clock/shot clock it did effect the way the rest of the decisions would need to be approached in the last minute.
So what if people want to discuss the game or even one play? IF you dont like the way people are discussing the play then dont read the thread or better yet dont comment.
Please. Nobody here would have a problem with you or any fan voicing their opinion that they would have done it different than Bradley did. Many have, but it's clearly not unanimous. The problem, as is commonly the case, is that the anti-JL folks have to frame it as if their opinion is the only right one, the coach blew it, "he did not give his team a chance to win", he lost the game for the team, and anyone who disagrees is a kool-aid drinking apologist for Coach Les.
If anyone wants be patted on the back for ripping the coach, then they are welcome to go back to the other board.
From an MSU fan perspective. Tactically (coaching) wise that was an excellent game plan to beat the Bears. Everyone of our deficiencies was exposed by coach Les.
Also, the late game management was more the fact of Warren taking a long threepointer with two guys on him with 35 ticks on the clock down 4. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I couldn't believe he loaded it up like that.
I agree though...right around 40 seconds give or take. When we started fouling I was like...MAN make em EARN it with good D. We had been stealing the ball and I'd take my chances on D first...

What exactly are "anti-jl folk"......I can attest to the 5-6 people on here that voiced an opinion about the fouling vs D and not ONE is "anti" JL.

How DARE you question Warren....
JL wasn't to thrilled with him either. If you could read lips he tore into him. JL MUST be "anti AW"......
You guys do realize that the major supporters of the Coach actually bring up and discuss the anti JL phrase more than those who are displeased...
Paranoia maybe?
Not sure, but I can gather a discernible difference between someone just being frustrated at certain in game actions and actually going after someone for no apparent or logical reason...
Take a nap or walk away for a few hrs next time...
An opinion was given and right or wrong it was just that...
You don't have to agree with it, but having a tizzy about it is just uncalled for...
My point was directed more at the back-n-forth over what (I expected to eventually be asked of what) games, if any, how many, how often, most recently, if ever.... proof required, dates, links please, etc.
My thoughts, I don't care pro-JL, anti-JL, anyone on a fringe of either side doesn't see the whole picture. My problem is, I want to enjoy BU hoops, and I don't like when people repetitively talk negative about something I want to enjoy. Say something negative once, fine. Say it twice, ok. Any more than that, and in my opinion you really are just trying to damper my enjoyment. You can say that you don't agree with a game plan without saying "coach didn't give em a chance" and "need new administration" and the same old crap.
I really wish the people that want to continue to incessantly bang the negativity drum would stay over yonder on PJS. To me, if they come here to do that when they clearly know the philosophy of this site, they really are just trying to stir the pot. Disagree with a call or decision, no problem. Mocking the team, being sarcastic, not respecting the players and staff efforts, shaping everything to be a Jim Les issue, are really things that are much more suited for PJS.

And maybe my smiley was missed?
Whatever.
Hmm...well maybe it was all the CAPS that had me thinking you were showing anything but sarcasm or humor...
