Dirty play??

on the final play of the 1st half last night, UIC's Paris Carter absolutely clobbers Butler's Matt Howard right in the face with an elbow.
Howard obviously has no way to see the elbow coming, but clearly Carter has the whole play right directly in front of him and has every opportunity to avoid the collision of his elbow with Matt Howard's face.

Howard had to leave the game and go for stitches...and may be out up to a week....UIC lost to Butler anyway...

yeah...I don't know that it was a dirty play really. It all happened pretty quick. Even at slow motion it it looked like Howard was coming at Carter's side...at real speed that all happens pretty fast. I'm not sure there was anything the other player could have done. It's one of those played where the blood makes it look worse than it was. I've seen much more contact than that in the paint but this must have hit Howard in just the right spot....but it doesn't appear intentional to me

Almost as dirty as Kevin Garnett's punch to Channing Frye's "junk" while Frye was shooting a "J" during a recent Celtics-Suns game !

I didn't see that as a dirty play. Strictly accidental, IMO.
