Congrats Drew...a fine season you are having and within all the adversity, you are the silver lining...I'm sure your parents are proud at how you've handled everything...a class act on and off the floor, a great kid, and you will certainly be missed by all of us involved with the BU program...

And Rice...would be nice to have him, or at least have recruited him...

                Bradley did recruit Rice.

Somehow I suspect if we had signed him, we would have seen complaints here about why do we need another 6'2" shooting guard.

I second all your comments. A Dub you are gonna be missed both on and off the floor. Also love Rices game.

I heard we did not recruit Rice, how do you lose a recruit to Drake when Champaign is so much closer?

I am not privy to details of Bradley's recruiting, but I heard Bradley was in contact with Rice for a long time, and before most other schools got involved. Why kids select a certain school depends on a lot of things. Maybe Bradley was eliminated early.

Maybe this comes as a surprise to some, but Bradley is not a name that invokes awe in high school kids, even in Illinois. It is difficult to recruit to Bradley, and I have heard about D1 recruits from as close as Champaign that did not even know Bradley was a Division I school. It's not like they get TV time and media coverage outside of Peoria.

Just my speculation, but an off-guard recruit might have looked at Bradley's roster and with Sammy, DSE, Dodie, Andrew, and Jake returning, and thought there would be very little playing time immediately available.

If some people with an agenda (not addressing this at you) want to try to make this into a case of Bradley dropping the ball on Rice, then go for it. We know it takes a lot less than this to provoke the anti-Jim Les crowd into their silly rants.
If BU missed out, then so did over 300 other D1 schools.

So because someone says they would have liked to have had Rice or wonders outloud why Bradley did not sign him or even wonders outloud if Bradley even recruited him they are anti Les and actually doing nothing but going off on a silly rant?

Here is a quick FYI not everyone who is not a fan of Les's has an agenda or is critical of Bradley or Les have an agenda. They simply are tired of the routine of being nothing but average to below average.

Or should I say I am speaking for myself because I only want to see Bradley win basketball games and do not give a crude who the headcoach is, and regardless of who that coach would be if a guy like Rice is playing well at a conference school I think it is fair to ask why or what happened to him and why Bradley did not sign the guy.

Les envisioned MVC tourney and conference titles when he was hired and that has turned into nothing but well a silly rant.

No, that is a legitimate question, and anyone is free to have whatever opinion they want they want about it. But there are some who use issues like this as a reason to justify attacks on Jim Les or on other fans who have different opinions. And that is what IMO is silly.

Here is a thought...Bradley has a player who will end up the leading scorer in the MVC by a margin of 3 ppg over everyone else, a 1st team All-MVC player, and a Player of the Year candidate. Let's give credit to our players, too, and not just the ones we "missed" on. And if they return next year, I predict we will have 2 more All-MVC and POY candidates in Taylor Brown and Sam Maniscalco. Maybe our coach also deserves credit for recruiting and signing those guys that everybody else missed on.

all kids that BU has landed for 40 years who turned out to be key players at BU were kids who were under the radar and few other options...
Roger Phegley, JJ, Willie Scott, David Thirdkill, Voise, Hersey, JL, Deon Jackson, AP, Danny Granger, POB, etc...
all were overlooked by other bigger programs....
there have been very, very few "blue chippers" or top recruits that BU has beaten out lots of other schools for.....maybe we've come close...
but face it, we really MUST keep after the diamonds in the rough and kids under the radar.....so anyone who rips into our recruiting simply doesn't know how hard it is...

Way to go, A-Dubb! Hope you finish the season the way you've played all season so far. Even in the games he's struggled to find his shot, he's done all the intangibles to try to help the team win. He is truly a team player this year and in my book, deserves the "Most Persistent Performer Award" in the Valley.
Without AW this season, we would be downright horrible (vs. just plain bad ). He has given us a glimmer of hope for the St. Louis tournament this year, if not to win the tourney, at least to win 1 or 2 games.
