He needs to lay it out for those fans that don't know the school colors.
        Can we start winning soon?

Reynolds has been fine. The guy is a fair reporter. This anti-PJS schtick gets old.

He's got to report the facts. And fact is, we are mired in the MVC cellar. I would think last year he would be a bit kinder because it was deserved based on better performance. To put it kindly, we're not very good. Maybe as bad as we've been in almost a decade. I think DR has been quite kind given the product on the court.

I know there has been evidence over the years of an agenda by certain PJS staff, but this year you gotta admit, I think they could be a lot more venomous than they've been.

And with this weekend being alumni weekend, there will be ample opportunity to inquire with alums as to what our school colors are.

After the pleasantries are exchanged of course...

That was an awfully "wordy" article for the one simple point he was trying to make. But I don't think he meant anything malicious towards the team as he mentioned their recent wins at the beginning and during the latter half of the column. Still, he could have summarized his point in one or two quick sentences.

Thanks for agreeing with me. But now you risk being attacked by the pj star bullies.

                  I am completely confused.

The paper gets blasted on here that there are not enough articles etc about Bradley.

Then Reynolds writes an article about Bradley and some complain that it is to long, not relavant, needs to now write one about winning two freaking games in a row after losing 11 straight.

What is it they need to write more Bradley articles? More articles about only the positives? Not long articles about obvious things? No articles about anything negative? Articles about what exactly?

Not sure but seems some have an agenda and its not only the employees of the Peoria paper.

Let me try to help clear your confusion. Here are some undeniable truths.
Every fan I know is happy to see articles about Bradley, myself included, and would appreciate more coverage.
We especially like to read articles that delve into topics we don't already know about.
Believe it or not, there is a lot to know about the team and individual players that never gets reported or covered.
We also like to see articles that don't focus on the negatives.
Fans here are no different than any other group of people, they have opinions, and they like to discuss the news they read about. No one should have a problem with that.
But the PJ Star is off-limits. If a poster has a critical comment about anything written in the PJ Star, he will be attacked.

I am just guessing here but I dont think the Journal Star writes articles solely based on informing the already informed. They write to inform all good bad and ugly.

And the attacks seem to go both ways on here.

What should Reynolds write about that we dont already know about? A player telling the coaches he doesnt care and why or where did that statement come from? What players girlfriend is influencing his attitude? What is there to know about a 8-16 team that needs to be told that none of us already dont know about?

I think the Peoria Journal Star is WAY to easy on the Mens basketball program, on Jim Les and on the overall Athletics Department at Bradley.

Go 8-16 and play in the 4-5 game in the Valley tournament year after year in lets say Ann Arbor Michigan and see how many warm and fuzzy pieces get written.

Reynolds could have taken some serious shots at alot of thing BU related in this article instead he just gave the facts. Face it there are a lot of negatives associated with the Mens program at Bradley and just because there have been two wins in a row they didnt just go away.

Please. There is no shortage of serious shots at BU and JL by the pjs.
Every other newspaper that follows the other 9 MVC teams write more articles, and with more information about the team, the players, and everything about the program than the PJ Star does about BU. And they do it without delving into what the players' girlfriends are saying.
If you need examples, let me know. Here is just 1 such example- multiple stories posted every day, not just on game days.-

Even the pj star apologists cannot deny that the Omaha World-Herald's coverage of the Bluejays puts the local coverage to shame. And despite the underachieving team, and the lack of serious injuries to excuse it, there is very little focus on the negatives. And there are negatives, just look at the CU message boards.
Just the fact that you can't think of anything else the reporters could possibly tell us about the team and players shows how uninformed even intelligent and dedicated fans here are.

And for the record: I think Dave Reynolds does a fantastic job. He is the best beat writer that Bradley has ever had.

I agree completely. I'm not saying anything anti-PJS, just that the good cop/bad cop thing has not been present this year. Both have been tough at times and positive at times. DR has had a harsher tone and KW has eased up a little bit.

I can think of plenty Id like to know that has not been asked or answered.

Why does Les call timeouts after made baskets?

Why does Will Egolf commit fouls 25 ft from the rim?

Why did Les go into this season with no true second point guard knowing his primary point guard was coming off surgery?

Why has Les not developed Anthony Thompson into a servicable 5 in the Missouri Valley after announcing that he was his most talented big man he has coached since POB?

Why Jim Les has not recruited a pure shooting guard since JC graduated, and if Milos was that recruit why does he not play more minutes?

I have plenty things I would like to have known about this team, the program and its players.

we routinely applaud the good coverage and point out the coverage that says little --- it's no different that the people on other message boards...
There are people on this board who have other full time jobs that still write more stuff on Bradley basketball than our local paper does......
