From the reaction of the 2500 on hand, I think most agree with you.

Many if not all were on their feet applauding the fine plays and hustling effort that the Braves gave us.

The team did deserve to be cheered, they played hard. I think there are some weaknesses on this team. I think there are some strengths. I am hoping that the team and coaching staff can improve on both the strengths and weaknesses as the season goes along. There will be good games (Andrews 2nd half last night) and some bad games. I hope we don't get to high and low during the season. I am beginning to beleive that this coaching staff can make the team improve from the start to the end. We will see over time. February and March will be much more important than November and December.

Wow four pages of gab just on a preseason game.
But every preseason rag that has come out has predicted that BU would trouble scoring because they lost too much.
Some even went to the specifics as to predict they would be lowest scoring in the league and have a terrible year, and fans lose interest.

I know it's early but that's not at all what we have seen.

I could not make it last night but did listen to some on WMBD. My question is did JC play at the guard position or the forward spot? Where were his shots from? Do you think Salley will step into the #4 spot or can JC play that role as a starter. Can Sam play the #4 as a starter when he gets strong. How does Danny fit into this mix? As you can tell and as the color commentator suggested last night the #4 spot is the biggest question mark on this team and is wide open for someone to step into. Who do you think it will be?

For the record I am cautiously optimistic. Something about CB on the bench makes me think we will be OK.

JC played guard in a three guard starting lineup.
No way Crouch will play in the paint, and we definitely need both Zach and Matt to stay healthy to play down low, until Sam is fully ready for 20-25 minutes a game.
Salley did play the 4 and did well.
His 8 pts is not fully indicative of all he did defensively and with rebounds and passing.
Danny Adams might play the SF or SG but isn't likely to play in a 4 or 5 spot.

From everything I've read.....I really can't complain about anything. It's only preseason, and there's no alarm signs as far as I can see, which is all I'm really looking for at this point.

I agree there's nothing alarming, but the lack of frontcourt depth is kind of concerning, at least to me.

Sam is coming along well and should be back in the playing rotation in the next couple weeks. That will help.

It will help to have his body, but I still think Sam is still a very unknown commodity. He has never even played in a conference game.

What more would Winona have to have done to convince you they are an exceptional DII team.
They won 23 in a row, won the national title, returned all but one of their top 8 players and have beaten all their DI opponents on the road this year (except BU).
I am not even so sure many MVC teams would have won games at BOTH Drake and Minnesota.
