yup -- he's good and this wasn't accomplished against some pushover opponent...
he did it against Springfield Lanphier!

Lanphier has a kid who's a solid D-I guard Larry Austin who is getting interest from University of Illinois

Man I wonder if it came down to getting this kid or Max if a scholarship opened up, which one would fill a bigger need? We need a shooter BAD, but adding another post who can bang down low would be nice too. If WE, JP, AD (hopefully contributing like JP is this year), and AT all return, along with TB and SH I believe we will be solid in the post. So I would probably go with the shooter first, although I wouldn't mind having both!

It would be nice to have kids that can really shoot it again, I've really missed that since JC graduated. AW is about the only thing close we've had to a pure shooter since.

        We need the shooter....and I don't think it's a tough decision IMO

100% agree. Unless the big can be a legitimate different maker I want a pure shooter. Right now all we have coming back next year will be SM and we cannot expect him to be the only 3 point threat out there. As it is we will have to hope the JE and MK step up their outside game!

I think SH and DS will help a little, and DSE seems to have found a little bit of a 3 shot lately. JE and MK can maybe step up. It doesn't appear RA shoots a lot of 3's from what I've read on here, but TB isn't a bad 3 shooter either when he's on.

But I agree we need a sharp shooter to go with SM and these other decent shooters.

Sounds like no one believes Jordan is ready for d-1 basketball , would be someone you might take a chance on with his shooting skills, from what I have heard Max is out of the running.

Nelson is heading to the Valley.

                Evansville!

Another good shooter for Evansville, seems like he will be a real nice get if he can put on some weight. I would have liked to get him as a desperately needed shooter for next year but oh well. We lose our two best 3 shooters in SM and AW and don't really have any major 3 shooters for next year.

Evansville has been like a revolving door this past decade with probably more player movement in and out than most Valley schools.....
this year they lose Van Tongeren, Lacey, Hopf....and actually have one of the better shooting guards in Colt Ryan who's just a sophomore..and plays 33-35 minutes per game...
then two of their other key returnees, Denver Holmes & Ned Cox are SG's that play plenty--
I hope Jordan can be patient because I have a feeling there won't be enough minute nor enough balls for a few years...

He sounds like a good player, but looking at our class (assuming all come), theres not anyone I'd remove and place him in. We need a pure shooter in the WORST kind of way (never thought I'd say that with a JL-built team a couple years ago), but I just don't see how we could have fit him in.

I thought he would be a good fit at BU until I saw him first hand. I saw a 5'10' Soph from Morton completely shut him down.He took bad shots because the Morton kid wasn't giving him anything. Can anyone have a bad game? Yes but he was not the best player on the floor by far. Blispling was by far.
I have also talked to people from Lincoln and they did not speak highly of Nelson. Certain people wanted him to shoot the ball everytime he could get it off.an ya guess who that would be. Not the best team player or teammate. Not sure we missed anything here. Hope he does well against everyone but us.
