Im sure im missing many but if he is in the league with these guys than i really hope he comes to Bradley.
marcus-yes MB has a power game equal to or better than MG. MG was longer but not as explosive as MB.

sergio-yes Bigger body and more of a post player than SG. Serg was really a wing player

vershaw-close MV is an underrated offensive threat. Very long and athletic. MB is definitely stronger, not as refined as MV in terms of post moves yet, though.

randle-BR was more fluid than MB, but again, MB stronger on the boards

cellus- Can't really compare, MS was really a wing 3. If we're talking about MS vs. MB at 4 or 5, I'll take MB

Biefeldt and Prosser are both two of the most physical bigs in terms of aggressive rebounding and low block play out of this area in a long time. I think they stack up with this list.

Of the other kids Bruce Weber has committed for 2011, 4 of them are listed as forwards, so will Max be able to get any playing time with them and Griffey, Richmond, and Leonard?-

With all due respect, I disagree. The Big 10 is all about strong post play. What is hurting the Illini now is their lack of strength at 4 and 5. When you get in there with strong post teams like Wisconsin or Ohio St. you get hammered down low. Leonard and Richmond are showing capable of providing that in the next few years, but MB would be a nice addition and could probably gain playing time at least by his Soph. year. Honestly though, I think he'd better off at a place like Michigan, a sort of slow down team who looks like they could use a 4 or 5. MB just the type of player who can flourish at those spots in the Big 10. It's a great fit.

Back then, Max was a relatively skinny kid with undeveloped skills, had long, shaggy, floppy hair, and at times looked like he really ought to just play JV ball...
but there was no denying his energy and attitude....

But some of the things that I heard those college coaches saying were to the effect that he'd never be big enough or skilled enough and was not ever going to be a college player....in other words -- there were a whole lot of doubters.
I am happy to see Max has silenced most of his doubters...and good for him that he's picking up plenty of college offers.
I doubt there is a single player in the state who is more valuable to the success of his team than Max is...thus by some measure he's the MVP which should translate into Mr. Basketball.
        Good post.

Ive only seen one game of Biefieldts, but to put him in league with any of those players is HUGE stretch IMO, many went on the be All-Big Ten caliber players, were major contributors on teams the made deep runs in the tourney or were top 10 in the country teams. I don't see that in the cards for MB. Put a 6'9" big body on him and I don't think he would do well at all. The transfer from PND to Big Ten is, to say the least, extremely dramatic. I would be surprised if MB gets too many high major offers, he would do well to choose a mid-major program where he could go up against less talented less muscular big men

Watch out amckillip, you are going against the Max hype! Don't get me wrong, I am sure that Max is a good kid and I know he is from a good family, but the hype that people have placed on this kids' basketball skills is unreal!

                .
Marcus Griffin would have been an NBA player if his knees weren't similar to an 80 year old man.

                Brian was a wing.

I wonder who it was that offered Max? Since we don't have a head coach as of right now, who do you think extended the offer? Was it "transition coach" Scott, or one of the other coaches that are "currently weighing their options"?

Hire a coach - I'm dead serious. What was our sell? "We don't have a coach, don't know who it'll be, who will still be on the staff, no idea if/how many players are transferring, have no idea if you'd get playing time, but we're sure you'll love it here!"

Come on, think about why a kid would choose a school and how coaches make offers. That just makes us look dumb and desperate to every recruit.
