Coach takes a lot of bashing after every loss, I'm not going to debate whether it is deserved or not, but this was a well coached game! So after a win, I think he deserves some praise.
Congrats to coach Les and the team for finally getting over the hump!
Creighton's three point shooting was what kept them in the game, and for reasons I don't understand, down the stretch they didn't try many threes.
Jim Les's game plan was to front Greg Echenique, and double-team him if he did dribble. It worked well. He is not much of a jumper, so Creighton was not successful in lobbing the ball over the defense to him, and he was frustrated by the double-teaming. If not for the good outside shooting by Creighton, this could have been a laugher. Props to Dyricus for a sensational game, and to AW for his usual persistence and reliable scoring despite tight defense and double-teaming.
This has been building game by game as the team is learning to play with each other. I missed this game but commented that I thought Les and the team prepared and played as well as possible against WSU. It sounds like Les put together another good game plan. Kudos!
Let's keep this thing going and have a winning February; we can do it!
I for one think this team isnt very talented, but today I was asking, wow how hasnt this team won more than 1?
Don't want to get into the 'how' or 'why', because that was run in the ground several losses ago, but I thought there would be more MVC wins as well. While the talent level isn't high, I thought this team could stay out of Thursday if they did a few things - defended and valued the ball. They have been getting better in these areas of late. Let's hope it continues and that the seniors on the team can finish on a positive note.
I was able to overcome weather and watch this great game. Les used his great coaching skills with wise player rotation to place players in a position to win this game. Effort and focus was present for 40 minutes. And though there were many good plays being made, key plays down the stretch were statements. I have watched many games over the years and this ranks with the best. Once a brave, always a Brave!!!!!

Is this post serious?
Wow. One of the best games ever.
Amazing it came in the midst of one of the worst seasons ever.
I'd have to think it was dripping with sarcasm BB. We don't have a "smilie" for sarcasm.
Or maybe it's just been so long since we've played our best that it seemed like one of the best ever.
I don't know about you guys, but I feel a lot lighter today...must've been a monkey on my back too - nice to get through this with you great & passionate BU fans!
