Big 12 leading scorer kicked off team

Bob Knight has principles.

His top returning player, and leading scorer (in fact last year's Big 12 leading scoer), Jarrius Jackson, is struggling academically, and
Bob Knight kicked the kid off the team.

"If Jackson is able to do what is required of him that we have discussed, when he has satisfactorily done what is required of him, then maybe, at that time, we might discuss the possibility of him returning," Knight told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal."

While I disagree with many of Knight's methods, I have to applaud this.

Well, it looks like even Bob Knight's need to win games trumps everything else. Jarrius Jackson, who was dismissed from the team last Tuesday for academic shortcomings, was allowed back at practice yesterday. Just in time to begin practicing for Texas Tech's opening game Saturday.

So Jackson's punisment, "dismissal" from the team, actually translates into a 5 day vacation from practice.
