There is no coaching vacancy at Bradley, and if there was, McClain would not be relevant to the discussion. Let's not go there, again.
Seems last time people brought up Wayne McClain on the message boards, the sports editor at the PJ Star had a stroke.
Because of the situation surrounding him, we got a black eye in regards to the selection process. And we possibly wound up with fewer candidates, do you want to repeat that?

Of course I don't but WM had nothing to do with all that stuff, It was Joe Billy.
I would have put a different picture here, but this thread is going to h@ll anyway!
Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
So you are saying that regardless of an opening WM would never again be considered for a BU head coaching position?
If he is ever the 'best' candidate we could come up with when the coaching job opens up at BU, we'd be better off just admitting that we can't compete at the D-I level and folding the program.

Not sure why we are having this discussion. We have no vacancy. WM probably would not even be interested in the BU job if it opened up. Wayne is in his late 50's and I think he's very happy doing what he is doing. I've known Wayne nearly 25 to 30 years going back to his days as Coach Vans asst. I think he would say his ship has sailed as far as being a Head Coach somewhere. I talked to him several weeks ago and he never said anything to me to indicate that but that's just my personal feeling. He is very happy with his current job and I don't think money and headaches at this point in his life are in the cards for him.
