  • The Prognosticators Were Correct

At the beginning of the year, BU was picked to finish fifth in the Valley (with SM and TB).

That seems dead on, doesn't it? With either of those two - or both - we'd probably be sitting at 5-5 or so in the conference, tied for fifth place. Anyone disagree?

Man, I really love Coach Les. I just wish I had more confidence that he was the right guy to leave this program. It'll be a sad day when we part ways with him but, that said, it seems to be inevitable at this point (and probably necessary too).

    Prognosticators were correct
Here is the preseson poll per the "prognosticators":
    1-WSU
    2-MSU
    3-UNI
    4-CU
    5-BU
    6-ISU
    7-InSU
    8-DU
    9-SIU
    10-UE

    How the league looks currently:
    1-MSU
    2-WSU
    3-UNI
    4-InSU
    5-CU
    6-UE
    7-SIU
    8-Drake
    9-ISU
    10-BU

Hmmmm...it looks as if they got as much wrong as they got right...
Even if you closed your eyes and drew names out of a hat you'd be likely to get at least ONE or TWO teams in the right spot...and that's all they have!
The only teams they picked who are currently in the same spot as they picked is UNI in 3rd place, and Drake.

actually they look pretty close to me except for BU and ISU red...which moves who they picked at the bottom...and I'm sure if they knew of our injuries we would have been toward the bottom.....at least they are close enough at this time of the season they could be right on the top half at the end....nobody really cares about the bottom

In my mind, at full strength with SM and TB, and given how everyone else is playing....we beat both ISUs at home for sure. And @Evansville. Definitely still lose to Wichita, @Indiana St, and Missouri St. Probably still lose @CU and @UNI. Probably split SIU and @Drake. 4-6. Still underachieving. I think people expected more out of the supporting cast than what is being provided.

Looking at the 5 non-con losses, would they happen with TB and SM?
@Duke - that would become a win for sure
TCU - we'd still probably lose, IMO. This was the 2nd game of the 2nd back-to-back that week alone.
EIU - this becomes a win
        @WCU - this becomes a win
Utah - close. since I called the last 2 a win, let's call this a loss to balance

This puts Bradley at 12-9 (4-6). Still a bit down. And I think people would be just as mad then as they are at 6-15 (0-10), FYI.

the prognosticators -- also known as the preseason pollsters - have correctly picked the league winner only 12 times in 3 decades...
of the teams picked to win the Valley - only 2/3 of those even got an NCAA bid!

Probably should've said a healthy SM, not just SM. Don't think it changes my projections though.

I remember that game, I was wondering why SM was even allowed to play, he was obviously in pain. I guess you could call that our 6 guard offense game. MK, AT, and JP played a total of 16 minutes combined. And guess what, WE fouled out.
