  • 4 Small vs 2 Big Lineup: Ill St Game

As was the case against Evansville and Creighton, the 4 small lineup is performing so poorly that JL really needs to stay away from it.

    First Half
    2 Big +8 in 11:43
    4 Small -3 in 8:17

    Second Half
    2 Big +7 in 16:29
    4 Small -12 in 3:31

    Overtime
    4 Small -1 in 5:00

    Game
    2 Big +15 in 28:12
    4 Small -16 in 16:48

That was very disappointing to see. He really deserved to see the floor in the 2nd half. When JP fouled out, I was hoping to see MK come in. With the injuries this year, MK really needs to get more playing time. Of the 3 sophomores, he has the chance of filling a unique role for the next two years ... a 6'9" who can shoot. I think JL is missing the boat by not playing him more.

I was also hoping to see Milos in the game after JP picked up his third foul. I felt that this would be a good way to steal some minutes with a larger lineup with the possibility of a three point threat in the lineup.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
