One- it takes a lot of time to cull through active threads to find the posts that should be deleted, and none of the moderators here are paid or have time to do that in every case. Two- sometimes posts are deleted from a thread, but more posts just keep reappearing that are objectionable or violate the rules. And three- sometimes threads themselves are inherantly in violation of some of our rules.
Example-Since there is not a coaching vacancy, we won't allow a discussion of who should be our coach, or which players should leave. And it's acceptable to critique the play and coaching, but not to direct insults at coaches or players.

Feel free to make your opinions known, but the problem we are encountering today stems from some posters who go beyond posting their own opinions. Posts must be done with civility and within our rules, and posts must not insult or attack others who don't agree with you or who support a different opinion. That won't be allowed.
And who attacked who exactly in said thread?!

It's a bit difficult to make an opinion known if it consistently gets removed...

Especially when there is no profanity or anything involved....

So you're saying it's ok for a poster to call me an a-hole on here (less than a month ago) but if I make a logical statement about someone not earning their pay it gets criticized and removed?

        Ok just so we're clear...

Where does it say that the creators of this site have to follow any rules whatsoever in what they deem as deletable?

Let's not go down this road again, please.

It doesn't but I mean cmon....isn't that the basis of creating something that has continuous success?!

I mean if you just look at things and say, oh I don't like that (delete)...I don't agree with his point (delete)....

              What's really the point then?!

Why not just say we make up the rules as we go along or see fit then?

It is never OK to hurl insults, especially derogatory comments and vulgarities. That much is clear.
How exactly can we prevent people from posting things? We do the best we can moderating and deleting objectionable posts.
BTW- a-hole (the actual word) is one of the 5 words in the autocensor, so we do censor such derogatory or profane terms and insults.

And, btw, we have a set of rules that have been in place since this board was started. They have been changed very slightly a time or two, but we don't make things up as we go along.
