THE STORYLINE
Bradley will complete the first-half of the Missouri Valley Conference double, round-robin schedule Sunday at Evansville with its first afternoon game of the season ... With its 0-8 start to the league season, Bradley has equalled the longest losing streak in Jim Les' nine seasons as head coach, matching an eight-game slide from Jan. 5-28, 2004 ... As the Braves prepare for Sunday's game at Evansville, Bradley has not lost nine straight since a 10-game skid Dec. 5, 1991-Jan. 11, 1994 in Jim Molinari's first season as head coach.
WITH A WIN
Bradley will ... Snap its longest losing streak in eight years ... Earn its first Valley win, first win of 2011 and first road win of the season ... Be victorious in its last visit to Roberts Stadium (Evansville will move into a new downtown arena next season) ... Improve to 10-1 in its last 11 games against Evansville
Evansville will ... Win its second consecutive home game and improve to 8-2 at Roberts Stadium this year ... Snap a two-game losing streak against Bradley.
AGAINST EVANSVILLE
Sunday's game will be the 37th meeting in the all-time series between Bradley and Evansville, which dates back to a 77-68 Purple Aces victory Dec. 22, 1986 at Roberts Stadium ... Bradley owns a 22-14 lead in the all-time series ... The Braves swept the 2009-10 season series and have won nine of the last 10 meetings dating back to the start of the 2005-06 season ... Although Evansville owns an 11-6 home record against Bradley, the Braves have won four of the last five at Roberts Stadium ... Ninth-year Bradley head coach Jim Les owns an 11-5 record against Evansville, a 4-4 road record against the Purple Aces and a 5-1 record head-to-head versus fourth-year Evansville head coach Marty Simmons.
TOUGH START
While it will even out by the end of the season, Bradley's Missouri Valley Conference schedule through the first eight rounds of league play has easily been the toughest in the 10-team conference ... Bradley's first eight Valley opponents have combined for a 45-19 league record, including a 37-19 mark in the 56 games that did not involve the Braves ... Illinois State has played the second toughest league schedule, as the Redbird opponents are 40-24, including 32-24 in their games that did not involve ISU.
LOOKING AHEAD
Bradley will make a brief home appearance by hosting Interstate 74 Rival Illinois State Wednesday night at Carver Arena ... The first round of the annual rivalry series will be preceded by the second Braves Club Gameday Luncheon of the Year at the Michel Student Center, and head coaches Jim Les and Tim Jankovich will be the featured speakers ... In addition, Bradley is preparing for a "White Out" Wednesday night at Carver Arena and will distribute 10,000 white Bradley Basketball t-shirts ... Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. game will be televised throughout Central Illinois on WTVP World.
