Reynolds: Freshmans struggles bear fruit...

We can only hope for a similar outcome to that 1954-55 team. Thanks for the positive spin and some hope Dave.
-- "The 1954-55 team was 5-19 and riding a 14-game losing skid when it beat Wichita State and Drake on the final two games of the season. Those Braves somehow earned an NCAA tournament bid during that much different time and won two games before falling to Colorado in the regional final.
That 14-game losing streak ranks No. 1 in BU history. It’s followed by a 10-game skid in 1991-92 and a pair of nine-gamers in 1934-35 and 1978-79." --

The 78-79 team won its last two games, it was the first year of Versace. The next season the team went on to win the Valley and went to the NCAA tournament.
Of course Mitchell Anderson was on the 78-79 team and Thirdkill, Houston, Reese all joined Anderson the next season.
Different times and era but with an influction of talent anything is possible. Time will tell if this version of Bradley Basketball can match other era's.

Wells is already said to be set to redshirt (fail), Harris is another Milos type (fail), and we have Andrew Davis who is wasting away at the end of the bench (double fail)...
We need quality big man talent and an offense to properly utilize them!

But he did go get Juco talent and to me that is a big difference comparing what is coming next year and what Versace got. 2 Freshman and a Juco who has not played competitive basketball in 2 years is not Thirdkill, Reese or Houston, he also brought in a nice steady point(again I cant recall they guys name but he started)
You can say Brown is the Anderson and Maniscalco is the Houston but It is hard for me to believe the Harris, Wells or Remy are comparable to the talent of Reese or Thirdkill.

Not sure it really matters though given the more pressing issues of scrapping the offense and defense and starting over...

I am becoming a big fan of Mr. Lemon. He has a willingness & confidence that I haven't seen except from Sammy on the Braves. Hopefully he'll get consideration for All Newcomer team.
If there is any reason to continue to watch BU this season, it's this guy, along with DSE. I think they both play hard whether we're 0-8 or 8-0.

Let's see if he gets close to 25 minutes vs. EU, as his play on Wednesday merits more P.T. IMO.
