In the one other MVC game today (Sun 1/16), Indiana State made a buzzer beater to win 61-59-

With the game tied 59-59 as time was running out, Jake Odum fired a desperation shot that was an airball but Carl Richard caught it and put it in at the buzzer for a 61-59 Indiana State win. Indiana State goes to 6-1 in MVC play. Attendance was a surprising 6,080. -
It was nice to be able to see the game on TV -- INSU is surprising good, even without Lathan. When he and Kelly are healthy, they are solid. Odum is a very good point.Don't putt until the cup stops movin'Comment

There is an imbedded video of the final 12 seconds where Jake Odum airballs a long three pointer, and Carl Richard catches the ball and makes an acrobatic layup at the buzzer. It looks like the Creighton players gave up after the shot by Odum, and did not try to defend against a rebound.Comment

Nice win for the Sycamores. It looks like they are for real as they beat a solid opponent. They still have their four games against the Valley elite, but confidence breeds confidence. So who knows how good they will be the rest of the way.Comment

Just watched the replay. Great play by Richard. Catches the shot in mid air and puts in a reverse lay up just before the buzzer. This is a very well coached, disciplined team that is playing with a lot of confidence. I'll be curious to see how they match up with MSU and WSU.Comment
