Nothing's more motivating than a van down by the river!

I also think a lion is marketable, and easy to make friendly and likeable for the fans and alumni. We could even name him Brad E. Lee haha
I am a fan of the Lion idea as well and I have heard it from a few others. Similar to the Old Dominion Monarchs that use the lion as the "king of the jungle". The Brave lion is more of a Wizard of Oz take but it makes sense. Easy costume and easy to create logo.

Maybe we could rent the lion from the Glen Oak Zoo to feed our opponents to the Lions!

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

yeah i first heard the idea last year from my friend who was actually student body president at the time. He was working hard to push the administration to do something about the mascot, but after he did not run for re-election the new student leaders have not made the issue an important one.

And yeah i think it would be simple and easy for the school, but could do so much in adding an image for not only our athletics but for the university as a whole.
