We still have enough players to play up-tempo.

DD, WL, DSE, AW, JP, WE, AT, MK, JE: Do you need more then 9?

To me that is plenty and would play to a few of the guys strengths and lessen our liability of holding down the blocks. The more I think about it the better I like it.

Absolutely agree. I'd rather run and gun and get blown out than fall asleep watching and lose by 6. Teams should have been running for several years IMO.
I can do all things through pasta, which strengthens me.

For years I have always thought that (with our abundance of quick guards) we should employ a Calipari, Pitino, Nolan Richardson-style of full court pressure where we rotate guards in and out. For the life of me I have never understood why Les does not do this. I've always thought it was a HUGE mistake.

While it is easy to say that, the more important question is can you run and still have DD and DSE hold up for the remainder of the year? Will Prosser still be effective?

To me, the answer to both those questions, is no. By the end of the year you are turning in one of your strengths into a weakness.

Our 3/4 court pressure looks pretty awful, so I'd imagine that our full court press would be worthless. With a depleted bench, I don't think we have the manpower to sustain it. Just my opinion.

This crap about players getting tired is over done, they get enough TV timeouts and team timeouts that they should be able to play 40 minutes if needed, if they are in good shape like most 19 to 23 year olds are then it should not be a problem.

Under JL, we have never had a good full court or 3/4 court pressure. I know some coaches like to play it simply to get the other teams thinking or to just slow them down a little, but I think that it costs us. This year obviously with a smaller bench it can tire you out quicker.

As for what I would like to see......obviously wins. I don't care if it is us winning 9-7 or 99-97. I do think we can mix things up on offense a little and get others involved. Of course that means when players have open looks they need to shoot the ball, attack the basket...etc. Aside from AW and DSE...too many guys are standing around making an unnecessary extra pass.
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

I'm not talking about 40 minutes a game. I'm talking about playing that way for an entire season. If you think conditioning doesn't matter, I don't know what else to say. It'd be one thing if that is what we were built to do and were already training that way.

I know what you are saying but half the season is over, something has to change or the results will be the same.

disagree a little...I think AW is wearing out..he is getting mauled every game...not only does this get to a player physically...he needs to stay mentally tough too...this is a tough season for that young man..

He is getting mauled and it is a disgrace that the Valley has such poor officials that they are not calling fouls on his defenders, last night they were bumping him everytime he went thru the lane and several times they had a hold of his jersey, the charging call on him has to be one of the worse calls , oh the fould called on Jake was a joke also because it happened right in front of me and he was on top of the ball, that official was horrible all night .

Agreed MCD. AW is doing everything in his power to help this team. He was getting so man-handled against ISU without getting any calls or help from the officials. As I said before, IMO he was totally hung out to dry and abandoned by his coach when he needed him most. A coach needs to stand up and take a "T" for the team when his one and only star player is being abused by the officiating. If there was ever a time for Les to get a worthy technical it was when AW was screwed over on that bogus charging call. I ask you..... What would Versace have done?

Dicky V would have stormed the court...
