This team is not built to grind it out plus our defense is really not that good as opposing teams that have any decent shooters have no trouble scoring on us, if we are going to lose might as well make it more interesting for the fans and the players, we fired our last coach because he only wanted to play defense and the scores were in the 50"s .

Once Versaces players graduated Albeck was pretty much done because his staff did a lousy job of recruiting,plus supposedly our guys already know how to play defense.

No, what needs to be faced and has yet to be is that we are NOT good at defense!

Guys game in game out year in year out continue to have career nights against us yet supposedly that's ok and we have to pay more attention to detail...um how about a guy averaging 10ppg scoring 34?!

Once again, we're not good defensively, and the sooner it takes Les to realize we need to just focus on scoring the basketball, the sooner we should get that W....

The goal should be 75 points...

The fallacy here, though, is that if we score 70 or 75, our defense as you point out is likely to give up 90 or 95.

I actually think one of the team's strengths is conditioning this year, but if you push the ball, the guys aren't going to have anything left in the tank at the end of the year, and your lack of depth gets magnified.

!00% correct, players on opposing teams hit career highs in points against our so called good defense, I have been preaching the same thing in that had our offense score 70 or more points a game then this season would not be on the brink of disaster, too many of you have bought in to a system that is completely broken and needs to be fixed, Let"s face it all of you talk about 9 seasons of mediocre basketball yet you want to continue on doing the same things , defense, defense, defense, well the team that scores the most points always wins the game so I say offense, offense and more offense.

So would you rather see us win 78-72 or 60-54
I know winning is the most important, but watching low scoring games is not really exciting plus if you are ever going to compete with the great teams you will need to put up good offensive numbers.

I know you're a "real fan" real fan, but let's not get carried away here. Let's just concentrate on getting that first win before we go gunnin' for those great teams.

I'm with you. Let's have some fun and perhaps the team will respond better if they go there a little loose. We also have to play small ball and the only way to take advantage or lessen your liability is to speed up the tempo. In reality what does this team have to lose?

I don't have a problem with uptempo play......but when you do if you can't keep up or don't have the depth....you can lose big.....

so is it more exciting to play uptempo and lose by 25 or play to win, limit possessions and lose by 5? Either way it's still a loss...but in a close game you have a chance to win at least.

I'm guessing if we were scoring 60 a game and our record was 11-5 we wouldn't have this thread.
