I have to disagree with you on this point. If you don't like the product, the best way to voice your displeasure to ownership (or the school in this instance) is to not buy the product. I'm still paying attention to this team but don't want to watch them anymore. I'm not a season ticket holder btw but have attended games frequently in the past (probably 50-75% of games that I could attend in the last 10 years with the exception of this year). Due to my schedule, I cannot attend most games.

Perhaps they should have a free pasta night.

I was really hoping that someone could pretend to be the Bradley athletic department marketing team and find a reason to get excited about the team.
I can do all things through pasta, which strengthens me.

I'm a sophomore at Bradley, and I will be at every home game the rest of the year and probably will be going the MVC tournament. I may be new to this board, but I'm not new to being a fan. If you truly are a fan of a team, you support them in good times and in bad. That's what being a fan is about. If you only care about a team when they're good, you are not a true fan. You're a fair weather fan.

Thank you. I was going to say the same thing, but whenever I do, it seems to offend some fans.
The definition of a fan is "an enthusiastic supporter of a team". It is not contingent on the team winning.

Fair weather fan- A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well.
A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well. During hard times they usually bandwagon other teams. They basically have no real loyalty to the team, but still manage to get better seats than you at the game. Strangely they mysteriously vanish at the first sign of trouble.

I will always support BU, does not mean I agree with everything that is going on , pretty much everyone on this board is a BU fan, they just want them to start winning championships as it has been way too long for a school that has all the fan support Bradley has.

You do realize that the more money I spend to drive up, purchase tickets, and then purchase a tournament pack, the better the chance that more will do so and listen to you and then better the chances that this entire regime will stay together...

Its not about not supporting the University or the players...trust me, I've spent more than enough money toward the University and it's Athletic Department.

I just don't see the purpose of wasting my money on a failing product that is Jim Les Basketball...

At this point after countless hour upon hour of car trips back and forth and back and forth, I'm sorry, I'm just flat out tired and would choose to watch from afar some nights...I just don't have it in me to travel around with the way things are going and how miserable it makes me after...

If you think that makes me fair weather then so be it...but I have to ask, given my situation, would many of you do what I have been doing for years now and driving 3.5 hours each way just to watch Bradley Basketball all the time?!

I have a feeling most would not in most normal circumstances, and I could probably sit it at 90% no given the current state of the program.

I'm new around here so I did not realize you had a 3.5 hour drive to come to the Bradley games. I guess I should have gathered you were from the St. Louis area from your user name. Provided you still support the team, I don't believe there is a problem with not wanting to drive 3.5 hours to watch a team, but I do think you should still support it and want to watch the games at least on TV or computer. It doesn't make you a fair weather fan to not drive 3.5 hours to support a team. If you were from Peoria or the surrounding areas, it would be different, but not in your current situation. I apologize if I insulted you.

You don't know all the circumstances of the posters on this board, none of us do, so you don't have to apologize to any of us. All of us realize that most fans wouldn't drive that far for all the games of a team, winning or losing seasons. Have to give credit to fans like St. Louis who do drive that far whenever possible.

Yes and I'll second that...no need to apologize Chibear...

I was simply stating what my situation is in response, and yes, I also have a way to watch away from Peoria on my PC.

I just have felt in recent years that many areas of the AD have fallen apart from the media guide to the ticket office to the Braves Club to the bball program (at least in W-L and growth)...

Some days I just feel as though my voice isn't as impactful as if I just stopped going and supporting what is currently going on...

While I am not asking for any to do the same, I almost feel as though it's not beneficial to myself or the institution if I go and support something I so desperately would like to see changed in a big way...

Right or wrong, that's just how I feel at this point.

Seriously.....no one can "convince" another to go watch BU hoops. Its up to you. If it isn't worth it to you stay home. Its pretty simple.

I'm as frustrated as the next guy and will voice my frustration but when the ball is up in the air I'm there for better or worse rooting the guys on.

I've always said it if you do not like a product just stop watching it, buying it or support it in any way and if enough folks feel the same there will be changes. To me that is the sensible way to show your dissatisfaction. I'm not sure I would drive 3.5 hours during the middle of the week even for a decent team. 7 hours RT plus the game is a lot of time, gas, money and good will owed to the significant other.

I agree with the sentiment here, and while it is hard for me to comment on much as I sit here with no inside information or info on day to day activities, it does seem like a lot of the peripheral aspects of BU athletics have lost some polish. Maybe that is to be expected with a regime change and penny-pinching, but I'm just a fan and I have noticed some things. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm not referring to the basketball being played, more the extenuating parts (aforementioned media guide, B.TV, promotions, starting lineup video/audio problems & side scoreboard issues). It just seems like everything is off kilter.
