  • Patrick O'Bryant signs to play with of the NBA D-League

Patrick O'Bryant, the ninth overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, has signed an NBA D-League contract after being released in China earlier this season. Due to the D-League's player-acquisition process, O'Bryant won't know which team he will play for until he clears waivers on Tuesday.

POB will play for the Reno Bighorns of the NBA D-league. Reno is currently 12-8, and in 3rd place in the Western Division of the D-league, and 3 games out of 1st place.

and Reno goes to 15-8 with a 109-102 win over Texas Legends

Patrick has now played 7 games for the Reno Bighorns, and he has started the last 2. This past Saturday, the Bighorns played the Iowa Energy in Des Moines, and POB played 36 minutes and had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

POB continues to play well for the Reno Bighorns. Last night he had 18 points on 8-9 shooting in 27 minutes of play to spark the Bighorns to a 116-103 win over the Jam.

It would be great to see POB make his way back into the NBA. Youth is no longer the hurdle for him as it was when he came out too early.

I wonder what thibodeau thought of him when they were together in boston... Doc rivers obviously didn't think much of him but it would be much fun if he were to end up a bulls reserve who earned a few minutes. Then you could trade for parker and the build could be bradley north.

That would be awesome. Unfortunately I don't see the Bulls taking a flyer on POB. I am hoping they swing a deal for AP though...I'll be purchasing that jersey immediately if they do!

It's probably better if he doesn't make his way onto the Bull's roster. They have a lot of big men, and he wouldn't get much PT. He doesn't seem good enough to bump Brian Scalabrine off the roster.
