I doubt anyone is annoyed we played well, more like frustrated why it only happens once in awhile, this season is on the brink so my idea is to worry more about outscoring teams and less about the defensive end, might just loosen up the players so they perform much better as I think they are being told to worry too much about their defense.

I am annoyed we played well. I have an agenda and want JL fired.

I guess we all read into things differently but you sound as though you WANT people to feel that way.

People are "annoyed" becuase it seems as if their IS some talent but no constant effort.

Personally I think people are reading into a good half that was probably due to a decreased effort by UNI as much as it was BU playing up to what they can play.

One half doesn't tell me as much as 5 games tell me.....

Again IF we turn it around we can all look back on this half that got it going. If not it was just another half of basketball that ended in a loss.

I'm not even going to waste time responding to those saying anyone would have been happier if we would have played poorer in the second half. You can't rationally communicate with people trying to spin things like that.

I started this thread and won't dispute the following things:

-the second half and comeback were exciting
-I saw a lot of things from different guys that we can build on
-it was nice to see our offense come to life

But if that game didn't frustrate and disappoint you, then I'm not sure we were watching th same game. Knowing that we are most likely playing Thursday and will finish the year with a losing record, all I'm looking for is each and every player and coach to give maximum focus and effort every minute of every game. If they do that, and build towards something good next year, I'm fine if we lose every game and will enjoy the developmental process and look positively to the future.

But to consistently watch the focus, preparation and concentration of all involved drift in and out every game is cheating the fans, boosters and themselves. And having to consistenly listen to the same tired excuses, apologies and rationalizations has reached a boiling point for me. If we are going to be average at best and show little to no signs of improvement or adjustments in virtually all areas after 9 years, I'm ready to let another regime give it a shot. What do we have to lose?

Fair enough, but the first half is what frustrated me. The 2nd half actually made me happy.

Same here. I was very happy with the second half, I thought we were going to win it. Will Egolf looked like I always thought he could play, every game I hope is a confidence builder for our players, so hopefully this will be one for him, he was making some extended shots. Best game he's played. There is a core group here still developing and when you add 6 good players next year we could be a very good, deep team. I think we all knew the season would be tough when we lost Sam and Taylor, I thought it wouldn't be as tough as it is so I was wrong but I'll still be watching the video stream Wednesday and pulling for the Braves. The season didn't turn out the way we hoped it would but we don't make the plays or shoot the ball, maybe we'll get a surprise in March.

On the range of human emotions, I was thinking there was a much wider range on either side of annoyed.

Could they not be dismayed? Angry? Or is happy the only alternative?

I like this, I like this A LOT! What have we got to lose. Turn AW Hersey Hawkins style loose for the last half of this season. Keep the two bigs 5-10 from the basket, let the guards set screens for each other and start throwing the ball up, what have we got to lose! Run-and gun, up-tempo game, fast breaks, slams, tip-dunks. I want to see these guys actually sweat, I mean sweat pouring off the body sweat, bent over grabbing the shorts gasping for air type of sweat. There's plenty of time for rest during timeouts and free throws. Turn the dogs loose....
