  • Redshirt For Andrew Davis?

Can C Andrew Davis still redshirt this season?

If so, any reason not to before its too late?

If he can't, any reason why BU shouldn't have tried to redshirt him?

Yes, he can redshirt. Any player can redshirt for 1 year in his college career. Players have 5 years to complete their 4 years of eligibility.
To qualify for a redshirt, the player must not have played in any games. Since AD has not appeared in any games yet, he is still eligible. The decision can be made at any time, including after the season is over. I suspect they are planning for him to take the redshirt.

A medical redshirt is different. Players can redshirt for documented medical reasons, even if they have played in games as long as the number of games does not exceed 30% of the team's games, and he cannot appear in a game after the halfway point of the season.

The only logical reason for why he has not played is he is being red-shirted, don"t understand why it is a secret or never been announced.

Same reason why they never announced JE. One injury and they may have to start putting him in.

The way this season is going I would rather see JE or MK have to play the 5 than play AD and lose that year.
