  • Carver Arena rates high

A website that visits arenas around the country and rates them on several categories, has posted a rating for the Carver Arena, and it's better than I would have thought-
A pleasant surprise can be found at a Bradley Braves game at the Carver Arena.

a lot of nice pictures! The fans are not rated as highly as other areas are, but it appears they visited for an early season, non-conference game. The one thing I am not sure I agree with is the 4/5 rating for the neighborhood.

I actually think this is pretty awesome, I personally like carver arena ALOT, especially compared to most other arenas around the valley... I wonder how much higher carver would have scored if they came during for example a BU ISU game?!

Only thing they need to do is fix the videoboard, its crooked I swear! It bugs me so much hahaha. Anyone else notice this? I always sit in section 1, and it slants downward from left to right, I believe, or it might be the other way around... not sure...

Nothing wrong with Carver at all......and I agree too bad it couldn't have been reviewed on a nite where we were playing ISU or at the least a MVC opponent on a Sat. Nite.

ISU fans (not all) but always tout Redbird and belittle Carver based on the dual purpose of Carver (with Hockey) but other then it not being a "perfect circle" like hoop only facilities there is nothing wrong with seating or site lines at Carver.

And I'd take Carvers upper bowl over Redbirds in a heart beat.

I also think you have better pregame experiences at Carver vs ISU.....parking, eating spots...parking, oh and did I mention parking

I know this wasn't ISU vs BU but thats where the main shots come from towards BU/Carver and I've NEVER thought the ISU arena was head n shoulders above Carver even though many fans from ISU try and take that stance.

ISU is not even close to being as good as Carver, the upper part at ISU has a lot of bad site lines to watch plus it is like they wedged the seats in a smaller building and the parking is atrocious.
I have always liked watching basketball at Carver and feel BU is lucky to play down there.

First of all, what a great website! I could probably spend days at a time on there if I had the time.

Nice to see that Carver Arena got a lot of love from this website. Agreed that we need to work on the issues regarding getting students to the game (and a good team would help too), but also nice to see that there are still many Peoria residents and alumni who are knowledgable about the team and enjoy being there.

Very surprised about the negative ratings regarding the Assembly Hall since the energy there is usually a lot higher than many arenas in the country. The problem is an older stadium does create problems, and having to dodge falling ice by closing down all the entrances except one is something that I don't blame the reviewer for getting upset over. Plus who wants to sit behind concrete poles (except at Wrigley Field of course! )?
