The Dec. 20th issue of SI ran a story on StatSheet, which operates 345 web sites, one for each Div. 1 basketball team. All stories are robo-generated ... no sports writers.

Quite interesting and the site contains lots of interesting information.

StatSheet is a great site. Been using it for a few years now. Lotta good stuff there.

I especially like their archived stats and information about previous seasons. Most sites charge for stuff like that.

First time going on that site, gotta say that for being robo-generated it doesn't read all that bad. Considering that it's probably some computer program, it does a nice job of extrapolating data.

It would be sweet to have Statsheet provide arenas with cameras that they hook up to computers in the arena, and then the computer program describes the action during game play.

And it can be pre-programmed, whether you want a sentimental game recap in Mitch Albom style or the hard-nosed prose of Jason Whitlock.
