  • Don Nelson on Patrick

Don Nelson,His unabashed love for rookie Patrick O'Bryant:

"O'Bryant holds the key to our future. That guy is going to be very good. You get a 7-footer talented like that, who understands, is bright ... the only thing he doesn't have is experience. He's never been in great shape before -- his conditioning, he doesn't even know what it is to get to the next level -- and he's got about three levels to go. Once he gets to there and his body matures, he's going to be sensational."

Is this the same Don Nelson that shot from the hip when he was talking about POB going to the NBADL before ever seeing him play? Sounds like he has had time to truly see how good and talented POB is. I hope he give him the chance.

That's about the most complimentary thing I have ever heard a coach say about a rookie. Or for any player! Wow!

          POB thru 2 games

Unfortunately, played only 5 minutes in game one and did absolutely nothing -- no line. Was listed as a DNP game two.

Let's see if Nelson means what he says

Golden State lost at Utah last night 106-82.
Patrick did play a little bit in game 3 and scored his first NBA points. Not a bad line--15 min, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals.

Here is an action picture of POB--
