Wichita's size and a few untimely turnovers by BU really killed them in the 2nd half. Once the lead hit 6 points, BU just fell flat, trying to force stuff and committing more turnovers.

Also doesn't help that the bench played its worst game of the year. Only 4 points and 5 boards and 4 fouls.

Personally, I would like for us to become more perimeter oriented. Get Warren, Eastman, DSE and gang jacking them up. They seem to shoot the 3 about as good they shoot the 2 LOL.

First half was very promising. Second half we were trying to hold on but once Wichita got rolling, it was over. They did a GREAT job of making steals on our passes to the big men. They are just flat-out better than us.

I won't complain about the section selection for shirts again, but I think over the course of the season everyone in section 1 has a shirt by now.

I have yet to see one promotion or halftime show for this season. Apparently the powers that be don't want a walk-up crowd. I wonder why?

I thought we played the game at our pace in the 1st half and Wichita played the game at their pace in the 2nd half. In the 1st half we took our time on offense and worked the ball around until we got a good shot whereas in the second half we sped up too much and forced too much of the action. I thought Wichita was a little too passive in the 1st half on both ends of the court whereas in the 2nd half they kicked it up a couple of notches and took it to us. We didn't respond very well. Another game in which we played well for about 25 minutes but against most teams that just won't be enough. If we keep playing like this the play in game is looking like more of a possibility.

What is it about BU that does not allow them to recruit big players with talent at least on par with other top Valley Teams' bigs?

Note that I mentioned comparable to other MVC programs' bigs.....avoiding the "MVC/Mid Majors can't recruit talented bigs" opinions.

BU recruits incredibly talented "mids"...Boogie, TW, TB among others, but has been struggling with finding bigs who can hold their own.

Agree BU does not get talented big men, Wichita coach been there 4 years and has that program way ahead of ours as far as size and talent, we do not have enough good shooters which is why we struggle to make free throws , DSE and Andrew were great tonight, everyone else average, for you that think A.T. had a good game then your expectations for him are very low .

We went to the Sweet 16 the same year as them, and didn't lose a coach. But I am sure there are 100 reasons why it's OK, acceptable, and part of the plan.

Interesting point, but in the grand scheme of things as far as the program goes, does it really matter? It is, and always will be about the product on the floor. For the casual fan, this one isn't worth watching, regardless of whether 'Quick Change' or 'Red Panda' is enlightening us at intermission.

I agree that the product on the floor is most important, but you would think that THIS would be the year to find ways to get people in the seats, and nothing. Have they given up? New AD? Going cheap? Trying for a drop in attendance to use as leverage for some reason? I also seem to remember a heck of a lot more advertising in past years for mini-plans and such.

I did see my first "I am a Brave" TV commercial 2 nights ago (with SM and JL's old haircut). But I agree that there has been an overall lack of promotions. That started last season, though (no deals on seats)

I think this has much to do with the system that Les runs; it's not conducive to big men (POB was the exception, but that was a different offense).

I'm sure all the MVC coaches bring this up to any big men considering BU.

I thought the bigs played pretty well also. They had some defensive lapses, but overall were solid. The Braves failed to keep in the game because they don't have an outside shooter besides AW. Maybe we will see some of MK for that reason. Take away AW's FTs and the team is 11-19 from the charity stripe. That is indicative of how well this team shoots 15 footers with no one guarding them.

Silver lining time - Back to back solid scoring games by DSE. It's unfortunate that Lemon's time and scoring seem to have dropped off, because we need as much scoring as we can get. But Dyricus seems to finding his stroke a little bit.

We had the Kenyan acrobats at the first game (who also gigged the women's home opener against Butler the following day).

But strange that the entertainment budget would dry up for a program where the excitement's never been higher

How about playing the guy who won all the wings for the fans at the PCC at the last home game?
