  • Cincinnati center quits team

Abdul Herrera, a highly touted 6-10 center has left the team and is not expected to return.
He averaged 19ppg and 16 rpg for his Miami high school, and was expected to play a big part this season.

Go get him! We've got 1 scholarship left for next year! He'll be eligible for next season!

Herrera is a sophomore who didn't play last year after the NCAA ruled him ineligible. If he transferred now he would be eligible for the 2nd semester next year, and have 2 1/2 years eligibility left. That is assuming his problems aren't academic.

After further review, no thanks. We've already got a prospective 7-footer who can't get eligible, we don't need another.

The kid reportedly has incredible raw talent, and huge "upside" if he gets eligible.
Watch for a certain Mountain West coach to make a few phone calls.

Here is his profile from 2005 and the schools that were recruiting him. He probably will end up at one of them.
