Squirrel's metric says we are one of the most experienced team in the MVC, even with counting Sam in 6 games. We have played 13 though. Probably just 'funny math'.

Squirrel's metric also says we lost embarrassingly to one of the younger teams in the league in Indiana St. What's our excuse for that one?

The sun comes up in the east. Modern science has confirmed this. Is that disputable as well? We can't let proven facts get in the way now can we?

Still waiting for the answer on the Singh/Prosser question, and the answer as to when we've ever been 'old' and 'mature'...

It's both. The original argument on page 2 was that we were both. You defended that position. We aren't young and aren't inexperienced. That position has been proven repeatedly as incorrect.

Quick question - If our players were all 25 and played college basketball for 7 years would they be any better?

(Also, I may be wrong, but I don't think squirrel's metric counts SM and TB, as squirrel mentioned that adding TB wouldn't change it much.)

And we do have one of the oldest, most experienced teams in the league. The metrics and age prove that. Is there any other team with a soon-to-be 24 year old point guard and a 23 year old shooting guard?
I am looking for those other older guards for you...but one team in the valley has two 6'8" inside players that are 23 and soon to be 24 yrs old...how old are ours? 19? and 21 almost 22.

Ok, let's talk about post players. Didn't know we had to be the oldest or most experienced at every position to expect to be good, but ok.

Indiana St's best post player against us was a redshirt freshman (RJ Mahurin).

Egolf and Thompson are roughly the same age as Ellis and Blair.

Durley and Prosser's numbers were a wash.

If we're going to make excuses, we might as well make them for the whole season...

How old were those EIU post players? (starters were both sophs)

What about WCU? (true freshman and a senior)

Never let the facts get in the way...lack of experience isn't why we're bad! We've got plenty of experience!

              • After reading both arguments, it is abundantly clear that BBrave has made the convincing undisputable argument and not even the biggest kool aid drinkers on this board can deflect his thorough analysis. Judge fanatic rules in favor of Bbrave and we can now close this discussion. Lets win a game tomorrow night

Negative vs. positive. Same argument since 2002.

The problem is BB thinks I am making an excuse....I am not...just stating that he is wrong with his assurtion that we are one of the oldest most experienced teams in the Valley...when we are in reality in the middle of the pack and maybe just a shade below middle...

BB why did we lose to Ind St? Just my opinion:

                        1. To many early turnovers against a team that was shooting lights out.
                        2. WE got into foul trouble and when AT was in, he was the only big playing..wasn't pretty.
                        3. Zone D wasn't working all that well..

                        No excuses...just an opinion...

Agree that our problems run much deeper than whether or not we're the most experienced team or not. I'll chalk it up to too much spare time over Christmas break!

                          MVC win #1 tonight!

Whatever gets you through the night. It's more like fiction vs. fiction. Negative spin, positive spin, somewhere in the middle lies the truth.

Only if you are excluding 6 incomplete seasons and 1 JUCO season.
