Eastern 61, Coral Gables (Fla.) 59: Remy Abell rescued the Eagles (9-1) in a semifinal victory. Trailing 59-57, the 6-foot-4 senior made a driving layup with 6.7 seconds left and was fouled. He made the free throw for a 60-59 lead. Coral Gables (8-3) then turned it over, and Kameron Woods made the first of a bonus free-throw situation at the other end for the final score. Abell had 23 points, Lyonell Gaines 13 and Woods 11.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

This Jon Holton name came up awhile back in Illinois recruiting talk...looks like he is atleast a solid Mid Major prospect.

He is a 6'8" power forward (2011) who looks like he has a couple offers-

One Rivals article said this about his interest in Illinois-

"I don't really have a favorite right now, but I've narrowed it down to a few schools," said Holton. "I'm considering Illinois, Minnesota, NC State, FIU, Rhode Island, Providence, Temple, and Western Kentucky . I will probably narrow it down some more in a few weeks once I take some visits."

One of those visits will be to Illinois. Holton stops short of naming a leader, but the Illini are likely to be one of the last teams standing when he makes his final decision. Illinois just recently began to get involved with Holton and he says he doesn't yet know a lot about the Illini. He likes what he sees so far, however, and he wants to take a campus visit to learn more about Illinois and see if it is a good fit for him.

"They have a great program at Illinois ," said Holton. "Coach Weber does a great job developing the players there. I'm going to take a visit to Illinois on October 28th. I want to check out the campus, meet all of the players and coaches, and see how I would fit into the lifestyle."

The timing of Holton's visit to Illinois couldn't be better. While the Illinois staff continues to pursue Chicago DeLaSalle forward Mike Shaw, Holton is an intriguing process in his own right and would fill a position of need for the Illini. Holton sees himself as a versatile forward who brings a number of different things to the table. He believes his skill set would mesh well with the system Weber runs at Illinois.

"I can play the three or the four position," he said. "I can rebound and block shots like a power forward, but I can also knock down threes, take it off the dribble, and pass really well. I think I would do really well at Illinois."

A host of mid-major programs have been on Holton's list for some time, and have extended official offers. Now several high major teams have Holton on their radar after watching him play in open gyms in the last couple of months. The Illini have yet to officially extend an offer to Holton, but it's clear he could end up at Illinois if things fall into place.
"I'm definitely going to make a decision before my high school season starts," said Holton. "After I take some of my visits I will cut my list down and then make a decision. Illinois will be on my final list."
