  • Best wins for Valley

Here's my list of Top 10 non-conf. wins to this point in the 2010-'11 season. Not many extraordinary wins or even upsets to make the list.
UNI seems to have at least 3 of them.

The top 5 are the best IMO:

    1) Evansville (at #23 Butler) Butler (8-4)
    2) UNI (vs. New Mexico - Vegas Tourney) N. Mexico (9-2)
    3) Bradley (vs. USC - Mass. Tourney) USC (8-5)
    4) UNI (@ TCU) TCU (8-4)
    5) UNI (HOME - vs. Iowa St.) Iowa St. (11-2)

    6) Wichita St. (vs. Virginia - Maui Invit.)
    7) Wichita St. (vs. LSU - in Louisiana?)
8 ) Missouri St. (HOME - vs. Pacific)
    9) Bradley (HOME - vs. Detroit)
    10) Creighton (HOME - vs. Northern AZ)

    Any others I left out?
I guess if you're a fan of the Valley, you should be rooting for these 10 teams to do well in their respective conferences.
Maybe, JUST maybe, it will make a difference in getting us 1 At-Large team in the Big Dance.

I am greatly saddened that Northern Arizona is considered to be one of the valleys top ten wins.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Oh boy. Yeah, that's not really one that jumps out at you. The other nine are pretty good though.

Not quite the 'Valley Victims' list of a few years back. Yikes.
        Onward and Upward!

Here are other games I'd definitely put ahead of a home win vs. Northern Arizona...or a home win vs. Pacific

-UNI's wins over Indiana and New Mexico in Las Vegas
-Indiana State's win over DePaul even tho DePaul is bad -- they played Stanford to OT and stayed within 4 pts of Oklahoma State.
-And I would certainly put Wichita's win over a decent Tulsa team ahead of Creighton over NAU!
-And remember how hard it is to beat Chaminade in their own house!

o.k. - o.k. - you got me on the Chaminade game - DEFINITELY a BIG win!
But UNI over Indiana - not really impressive. UNI should beat Indiana 3 out of 4 times. Indian will be fortunate to win 4 Big 10 games.
Indy St. over DePaul - Yes, this is a good win, especially how convincingly they won (22 pts. or so)
Let's see how Tulsa fares in league play. This may be a key win for WSU down the road. Tulsa is up and down so far.
