My bar doesn't move and hasn't moved this season. That's a big part of the problem with our program right now. Our standards for success can not change to what we want them to be and as our circumstance changes. When SM went down, I stated that the outlook for the season should not change that much.

TCU, EIU, Utah and WCU were all winnable games.

If you don't like the fact my bar is set high, fine, but don't say I'm the one moving it.

And when I say the outlook "should not change that much" I'm not demanding we win all four of those games, but we absolutely should not lose all 4.
I agree, and I also believe that maybe outside of the Utah game where we were undersized against them we lost those other three games due to poor shooting and ball control, not because we were shorthanded. I say that because we had the easy looks and could not finish them, and we kept turning the ball over without any pressure from the opposition. The fact that we had many good chances to score points shows that we did not lose due to being shorthanded. We lost because we played fundamentally poor basketball. Whether that's a coaching issue or a player issue is moot for the sake of this argument. What I'm saying is that we are a better team than we showed, even while shorthanded.

Now I agree we will probably lose some games against the better teams in the Valley, especially on the road, due to our being shorthanded. Most of those games mentioned above did not fall into that category, and hopefully those type of losses will be few and far between the rest of the way.

So yeah, I'm not changing my outlook that much either, but we probably will still lose a few more games due to our best players being hurt. But my outlook against the Drakes, ISU's (both of them) and the EU's of the world have not changed. If we take care of business against these teams like we should, we still should be no worse than 9-9 in the Valley and hopefully even a little better.

Just about any team that fires on all cylinders will win.
