BnC....I have said this before but I think it bares repeating. We ALL "see" things from different perspectives. I think its great we aren't all on the same page. Its good to hear all thoughts.....Squirrel isn't as negative as it may sound.

Nothing he said can really be disputed as its just how HE sees things and is how HE saw the game. I disagree this time to some extent but I respect his opinion.

Enjoy what YOU saw and don't let any one or any group of fans to bring you down.

If we can eliminate these type of situations, then I think we may have the makings of a team we can be proud of.
Thanks....I haven't seen any "brilliant" moments but I have seen some solid play at times. What I've seen the last few games is individual improvement. Now if those individuals can keep improving and blend it into a solid 40 minutes of team ball...we MIGHT have something.

As I said...I still see a play-in team at this point with a VERY small margin for error......but with time and hard work anything is posible.

He doesn't affect my joy at all, but he has said all of these things about why we won the game since it ended 24 hours ago....

Detroit also missed more than a half dozen bunnies (including 2 dunks) in the 1st half that could have changed the complexion in this game.

Detroit didn't play well and lost because of youth and inexperience combined with poor shooting.

Detroit's bigs were out of position and battled foul trouble

the team was playing it's 4th road game in 14 days and fatigue

He can see the game from whatever perspective he wants, but if someone tried to tell him that BU lost a game because of "road legs", he would dismiss it immediately.

          Dec 22 @ BRAD L 73-65

That is just a BRUTAL road game stretch.....3 teams in the state of Michigan and one in Illinois. Plus a WEEK off. 4 days off before Bradley.

          They were so tired.

          give me a break.

point is, a few said after the Jackson game that Detroit would be more of a test to see where we are as a team....

Squirrel...come on man...potential to be a measuring stick if they played a very good game.... really? So we take nothing away from this game?? ooooook
There are certainly things to take away from the game. I mentioned that, I didn't get into specifics.

My bar doesn't move and hasn't moved this season. That's a big part of the problem with our program right now. Our standards for success can not change to what we want them to be and as our circumstance changes. When SM went down, I stated that the outlook for the season should not change that much.

TCU, EIU, Utah and WCU were all winnable games.

If you don't like the fact my bar is set high, fine, but don't say I'm the one moving it.

And when I say the outlook "should not change that much" I'm not demanding we win all four of those games, but we absolutely should not lose all 4.

Fine if you disagree. I never said anything about it being a "brutal" road stretch. At all. Simply pointing out the fact you have a team playing four road games facing a team playing its second home game after a long break.

It's common sense when you have a young team, whose upperclassmen are bigs, that conditioning was an issue. The team did not having its shooting legs.

No I wouldn't. I would blame poor conditioning. But I don't think that will be an issue this year. In fact conditioning is one the strengths I've identified.

We ran them pretty hard..they were chasing us, especially Warren all nite, expending a lot of enery on D will often make the O suffer.

For the record I was the one that offered Detroit as a measuring stick....it was for me to see if the new O and time off was working.

NOW the new "stick" is ISU Blue....

Listen....I'm with you. I'm not OVERLY excited but we looked as good as I have seen us all year...and again, given the circumstances thats what I want to see....improvement game to game.
Certainly we did some thing to take them out of their element. A Detroit team firing on all cylinders still could've beaten us. I think there were legitimate reasons they weren't. And that's a good thing.

And do you really think Bradley was "firing on all cylinders" squirrel? Most of the time when a team has a long layoff like BU did they come out cold and rusty -- with their timing off. The team that's been playing consistently (like Detroit) will often be crisp and get off to a fast start. That didn't happen; give our guys (and coach) the credit they deserve.

And, regarding your "bar"...... Yes, it has moved. Nobody wanted this to happen but it did. And, as such, this team and coaching staff MUST be held to a different standard and the bar has no choice but to be moved. I understand your argument about our program's consistent mediocrity under Les, and I'm one of those who said that this is the year that something positive needs to happen with this program or else we need to find a new leader. However, we lost two of our three best players..... and key ones at that!

What this team showed in effort and heart against Duke and against Detroit has given me hope that something special may still happen. If this team continues to lay it all on the line like they've done and compete and win a majority of their Valley games this year then I have no problem keeping our coaching staff intact for next year. Sorry.

Guys don't worry, The Squirrel had one to many nuts. Happens to all of us at one time or another.

Good win but I do like the way Jim Harbaug treats each game, as the football coach at Stanfors, if it is the most important one of the season. In short this team needs to come out with a tenacity that their back is up against a wall and treat like every second of the game is the most important. Anything less then giving it our all then this team has to many deficiencies to compete at the top of our league. Great coaching getting these guys ready! This could be JL's finest coaching to date if he can get this team to believe and have them never take a play off.

I have seen team improvement because our players are playing together more like a team then individuals trying to do things on their own, no doubt we need to keep improving but our shooting % the last 2 games has been so much better because we are passing the ball and moving so much better in order to get higher % shots.

The more I think about you are probably correct...there has been some team improvement.

I saw some nice drive and dishes I usually don't see...and some nice ball mvt OTHER then the dreaded weave.
