We can imagine all sorts of What-if scenarios but that is all they will be, what-ifs. The team played well on Monday and hopefully they will play well tonight.

I mean it works both ways as well. What if Ruff never got hurt and Sammy never got the opportunities that he did. What if Walt becomes a stud by his 4th year and it all started because of the opportunities he had now. What-ifs are just that, what-ifs.

The team we have now needs to find ways to compete. Nobody is expecting a spectacular team at this point, but they can still use it as a growing season and learn how to compete given the adversity that they are facing. Learning to overcome adversity will help them in the future.

If AW had played the 2008-2009 season and stayed healthy, Bradley would probably have won the MVC and been an NCAA team. If DD had played last year with a healthy senior AW, maybe Bradley would have won 20 games again and returned to the NCAA. With back to back NCAA appearances, maybe Bradley's recruiting would have brought even better talent to the team and we might be 8-1 right now....

I guess you feel it is only fair to speculate and play the "what if" game when it focuses on the negatives...

No more laughable than "If AW and DD completed their eligibility last year".
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Everyone can speculate in whatever way they feel comfortable...but to say that we would have won 20 games last year and made it to the NCAA Tournament if Dodie Dunson would have been healthy is pretty far fetched. Dodie just isn't that much of a difference-maker.
If Dodie was healthy last year and playing 20+ minutes a game, that would have meant that Chris Roberts would have seen his playing time cut dramatically and DSE might not have seen the floor....and the production that those two gave us in the minutes that were replacing Dodie's minutes was at least equal, if not superior, to the production that Dodie theoretically would have given us.
So, no, I don't see us being an NCAA Tournament team with Dodie playing last year...Perhaps we would have won a couple close games that we lost last year if Dodie was playing, but it is just a likely that we would have also lost a couple of the close games that we won if Dodie would have been there to take away minutes away from Roberts and DSE in some of the games that they had big performances in...
Dodie is a nice player, but he's nothing more than the 4th or 5th option on that team last year...and Roberts and DSE gave us every bit as much production as Dodie could have possibly given us had he been healthy...

You forget that in addition to DD, we would also have had AW back completely healthy last year, instead of coming off his injury year. We see what he's doing this season after an extra year to recover, and I think he would have made a big difference last year if he had not been coming off an injury/redshirt year. 5 of Bradley's MVC losses last season were 5 points or less, or overtime losses. It is not far fetched to think that with those 2 guys healthy, Bradley could have won any of those games.
I am not saying Bradley would certainly have won all 5 of those games, but if they had, they would have finished at least tied with UNI for the conference championship!

                        Here's a fun, hypothetical, stretch-of-the-imagination What if...

What if we had on the same team: (BU players who have suited up over the last 3 seasons)

                        JC his senior year
                        TW his senior year
                        A healthy SM this year
                        A healthy TB this year
                        DSE from last season
                        AW now
                        WL & JP
                        DC in 10 years

Could be another Sweet 16 season!! Only problem would be Sammy would log 38 minutes per game, but HEY - we're talkin' about a HEALTHY Sam!
