Well ya we won and that is right now the most important thing.

Giving up 35 points to Jackson State in one half, being out boarded by 4 to Jackson State, committing 14 turnovers against an extremely soft Jackson State defense and Will Egolf playing only 14 minutes and committing 4 fouls against a very bad Jackson State team are all disappointing.

Will Egolf and his inablilty to stay out of foul trouble is the most disappointing.

This Bradley team would have really been fun to watch at a full strength. This team will likely win a few games but the offense struggles so bad it makes watching very difficult.

But it really would be interesting to see Will Egolf play 30 minutes and see if he could ever get in a flow and see if he could help out offensively.

A healthy Jake Eastman does make a difference.

I agree with a lot of what you said in this post. 2 of the Egolf fouls were terrible, terrible calls, so I won't give him too much grief. If he can start staying in the game, I think he becomes an impact player. You can see an increased confidence in his game, and his shot has started falling. Now that he can play more of the 4, his more natural position, he will continue to improve.

I definitely don't agree with brocks...I saw a bit of a spark today that I haven't seen this season. I think we will see whether or not this team is real on Wednesday.

Eastman played a very nice game, some great passes, good defense. I wish he would look to shoot more often.

Agreed...the win is nice, they always are but lets see what the next two games bring. That will tell us alot more then beating a team we SHOULD beat.

I 100% agree. He needs to become more selfish and look to shoot. 27 minutes and only 3 shots. But he just is solid. You can see the difference he makes when healthy. He isnt lightening quick or jump over guys but he gets in space, handles the ball well and is able to positiion his body defensively and rebounding and makes smart decisions with the ball... something Milos needs to take note of.

He though has to develop a scorers mentality. Shoot the ball. JC didnt get that back until he was a Junior and when he got it he was fantastic.

I agree, although his 4th foul about 20 feet from the basket was not very smart.

I enjoyed watching the game - the painful part was that it kept buffering every 10 seconds, so watching a full possession on my computer happened only 5 or 6 times. I hope that doesn't happen when I watch it on Wed. for probably a closer game.

Nice games by Pross, WL, and AW.
21 pts. by our Bigs - pretty good production!
JE - pretty good, and Stix should get more P.T. - though I saw he never got 1 board in 9 minutes. He gives us energy when he's out there.

                Need to work on:
                1) DD looked bad handling the ball - though he racked up 8 assists, but it was misleading. 2-6 from the line ain't gonna' get it done in league play.
                2) Gave up too many lay-ups - JP, AT, WE allow too much down low.
                3) Should have been able to put this team away by 10 min. mark - kept them thinking they were in striking distance, which isn't good. Maybe we should accept that we will not have a comfortable lead all season???
                4) WE's approach on both ends was opposite what I saw vs. Duke. Too much finess - get tougher Will!
                5) Rebounding needs to get better - WL, AW, and JP did well with boarding, but it's a whole-team effort!

IMO, this may have been the best B.tv stream EVER. I had no problems and the quality was fantastic. I'm guessing you may have had a bad/slow internet connection LittleBrave. You might want to check your internet speed. Mine just clocked in with a download speed of 14.94 Mb/s, and an upload speed of .31 Mb/s which apparently is above average.

Thanks B4L! I'll check it out tonight. It was so frustrating - at times, I saw a player's head (fuzzy) and then 5 or 6 guys running around inside his head - very weird.

How can you be disappointed in last night's game? Seriously?

BU played terrific defense, led comfortably the entire way and broke a five-game losing streak. And it might have ended up a nine-point game but, c'mon, it wasn't that close and anyone who watched or listened to it, knew it.

I consider myself as rational as anyone but, while this team has disappointed several teams in the early going, gimme a break...very glad to get a comfortable win.

Good point, MB. It was the 1st game we've led rather comfortably for most of the game - I was never on the edge of my seat waiting for a collapse.
I thought all guys made contributions, including our little zero (Woods), who handled the ball well. AW continues to impress - good sign this early in the season. Our freshmen are getting better, pretty good player substitutions IMO by Les, and we scored inside (33% of our scoring by Bigs).
JSU had some decent scorers - I don't think they were TERRIBLE - we just took them out of their comfort zone in the 1st half.

Let's keep it going tomorrow night - I think we can beat Detroit even withouth DSE if our defense stays tight and DD and WE have better games.

The final margin was as close as Jackson State was pretty much the entire game.

I completely disagree. This is a game you turn into a 20+ blow out. They were horrible offensively and equally bad defensively. They went what 10 minutes in the first half without a point? They were the definition of horrible.

Instead we let them score 30+ points in the second half with several lazy defensive positions. We traded baskets with them for most of the last 10 minutes of the second half, very few actualy possession stops. Heck if Lemon doesnt throw in the lop for a 3 this is a 61-55 game.

I am not looking for perfection but there is no reason for not playing hard every possession especially defensively and taking a 12 point half time lead and extending it. Instead Bradley does not extend the lead they let part of the lead evaporate.

We split way to many possession in the second half. Just my opinion yes a comfortable win but far from impressive or what I would expect from holding a 12 point half time lead v a SWAC team.

Did you know we don't have the services of SM, TB, or DSE? I'm not expecting this current team to blow anyone out. A win is a win this season - who do you expect to carry the scoring load that isn't already?
We are getting good production from AW & WL - don't really have many more scoring threats than that - everyone else will chip in a few points to get us to 60+. That's who we are. IMO, WE should/could be scoring more by attacking the rim more and staying in the game by not commiting stupid fouls, but everyone else I don't expect much more scoring.

You do have a point, and I got frustrated too, with the weak post defense in the 2nd half. Seems like the 2-3 zone puts our defenders at a lull from time to time - would like to see more man-to-man to use our quickness & aggressiveness. The BIGS should not have such poor position - allowing such easy entries in the paint.

Gotta agree with Houston on this one. While I am glad that BU won and that the outcome was never really in doubt, I am a little disappointed that BU didn't put this team away in the second half. The Braves have been burned several times over the past few years by letting teams get back into the game after opening up double digit leads in the second half. BU needs to learn to play as hard as they can on EVERY possession until the horn sounds. Step on their throats!!! Bury them!!! Blow em out of the gym!!! We seem to get VERY conservative when we get big leads. I want to see BU attack until it's time to call off the dogs. I hate the pull the ball out and kill the clock approach especially when there are still 3 or 4 minutes left on the clock. We didn't get a big lead by standing around and holding the ball. It's like going into the prevent defense. It prevents you from winning.
