Pretty decent game, saw a lot of things I liked from guys like JE, JP, WL, and even AT a little. AW played well. WE still has to play better and smarter.

Anyone wants to take a crack at AW? Come on all you haters. The guy is a bona-fide 1st team MVC player. WL needs to slow it down a bit and WE needs to step back right now and figure out the game. I'm not sure if he is thinking out there enough. He has talent but it just is not manifesting itself as of today. We need him to step up for the Valley play if we want to stay out of Thursday.

They looked pretty legit tonight. Still need to work out Points off turnovers and FTs. 3 point shooting was good!

I was not at the game but looking at the box score, a few things stood out to me:

        JP- 10pts 7 rebs 5-6 shooting
        WL- 6 steals
        AW- 23 pts 4 rbs 2 assists
        DD- 8 assists
        WE- only played 14 minutes
        BU shoots 55.8% overall!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AW was an absolute STUD! Every time JSU made a run the Big Dog stepped up!

I really liked what I saw tonight....... even if it was just JSU.

I'm not NEARLY the basketball expert that some of you claim to be, but is it just me or do we miss a lot of scoring opportunities by NOT hitting the roll man after a pic?

Crowd was better than I thought it would be. Prob 5000 in the house. I think I saw two Santas. JP getting comfortable....watchout!!

Correct about A.Warren, has shown why he should be a 1st team all conf. player, took some cheap shots tonight and then went down a dunked the ball in their face, Will can be a good player if he would quit committing dumb fouls 25ft. away from the basket, he also needs to pass the ball out of the post instead of shooting it the 1st time he gets it in the post, he is a good enough outside shooter so no reason for him to force up bad inside shots, W.Lemon is a very special player and only needs to finish more at the rim, he makes things happen.

WE needs to go hard to the rim instead of a finesse game that sure is not working. He missed a wide open pick and roll shot. He took a funny angle instead of going straight up and slamming it.

On that note, what a slam by AW. The first real KABOOM of the season. BTW..who through up the terrible alley oop pass?

I believe BU is the only team in the Valley that has been starting 2 freshmen, and note that freshman and very inexperienced sophomores (Woods, Milos...) accounted for 103 of the 200 minutes played...
as I reviewed the minutes played in other Valley games, no other team is having to go with such inexperience, so BU definitely has some upside there..

BTW -- the box score of the ISU game on the MVC website had Threloff playing four minutes last night..I believe that is an error

That 'inexperience' really only happens because our 2 4th year (out of HS) bigs can only stay or get in the game for a combined 20 minutes. Despite injuries, 60 of those minutes should of never happened..

Aside from the Duke game, AW has been outstanding on both ends of the court and has polished his game a lot since last season. I didn't expect him to play this well after a ho-hum junior season (for AW's standards & potential). He looks so comfortable out there - looks like as goes AW, so goes the team this season. He also could have racked up more points toward the end of the game, but was unselfish and just wanted the W. Nice job Andrew! Hopefully great things will come out of your senior season.

Fun game to watch, albeit on Channelsurfing.com!

BU offense was a good mix of jump shots and penetration drives. Minimal weave and minimal 3 pt chucking. Saw some positives from WE, AT, JP and even MK! As much as we would like WE banging inside, he looks pretty comfortable shooting the 10-15 ft jumper (except the fade away turn around jump shots over two defenders!).

BU played good defense for stretches of the game. I wish BU could have put the pedal to the metal in the 2H and achieved a blow out win for a change. "Losing" the second half to this team was kind of a downer, even with the BU players missing.

AT showed some hustle out there and definitely affected inside shooting by JSU. JL yanked him in the second half during a cameo when he got pinned behind the JSU center and couldn't muscle around to front him and gave up a hoop. Hard to understand why he yanks AT after one mistake, instead of letting him get more into the flow of the game. I see lots of other players making mistakes and not getting yanked and exiled to the bench.

Right now, the upside of a better AT would seem to be more IMHO than JE....

                            BWTHDIK?

Time to build on the win and stretch the BU streaks to 2W's and 2W's at home!
