-They have almost the weakest schedule in the league.
-They have no major injury to a starter.
-They lost both games to the Detroit Lions, save for some terrible game-changing calls by the officials.
-Their "+/-" in points is a joke for a team 5 games over .500.

All that said, the Bears will lose their first playoff game, assuming they do end up winning the division.

    take it to the bank.
The officials did not help the Bears in their wins over Detroit, they made the correct calls according to the rule book, I will agree in that the Bears are not a great team and more then likely will not win a playoff game but no one expected the Giants to win the World Series so anything is possible if you get into the playoffs.

In addition to the furious efforts to get the field ready for Monday nights Bears game, a Winter Storm Warning has just been issued for Minneapolis for Monday and Monday night. 7-10 inches of snow expected LOL. Talk about perfect timing for an outdoor Minneapolis game and 1st start for a 3rd stringer QB.

Indianapolis, St Louis stadiums not available?
        Perhaps KC or Cincinnati stadiums?

For that matter, could play at U of Iowa, U of Illinois, or U of Missouri stadiums...

Why go all the way to Atlanta...

They should have tried to play this game in Vegas! Tons of cheap flights, cheap hotels and warm weather.

To make matters worse, the Vikings kicker tweeted after the 1st practice this afternoon and said the field was hard as concrete still. He has serious concerns about injuries and concussions. Yet the Vikings coach praised the ground crew work and said the game would go on LOL. Way to stick up for your players big guy.

Just spoke to a good friend of mine who lives in Minneapolis and is a Vikings season ticket holder. The forecast for today is for 2-3 inches of snow before game time and 1-2 inches of snow during the game. Should be an interesting game!

Snow helps as insulation. Should keep the field a few degrees warmer than say, straight 10 degree temps..

But there was 3 to 4 feet of snow covering the field until mid last week, and it didn't do much good. After it was removed, they found the field was still frozen solid. I doubt more snow will help.

But did it snow before or after the ground froze?

But, short term, snow absolutely helps. Many frost sensitive plants will survive a temp drop if they are first covered with snow. Grass will usually remain green if covered with snow before 0 deg temps.. But if we get 0 degree temps with no snow cover the grass goes dormant (brown)

Some reports about field conditions, described as "dangerous" for the players-
For all the talk about the hard playing surface at TCF Bank Stadium, the biggest issue Monday night when the Minnesota Vikings host the Chicago Bears may be the slickness of the field.

Up to 5 more inches of snow expected today-

OMG. I can't imagine any athlete being forced to play on a hard surface, on top of ice. What's next, raising the playing surface a few feet up so the players can fall off the sides

The only thing worse would be to give the players sticks and frozen rubber discs and let them fire the frozen rubber discs at each other with the sticks, or better, let them beat each other with the sticks!
