A hit to ISU's RPI -- the only decent team they've played thus far, UNLV, lost at home last night to
Cal-Santa Barbara, 68-62....the UNLV fans were chanting "Big West is D-II", and of course the Mountain West
is fast losing it's best members to bigger conferences, so they in turn are robbing members from other lesser conferences (Nevada-Reno, Hawaii)...

None the less the MWC is clearly the top mid-major conference at this point in time. Boise, Fresno, Nevada, Hawaii are all excellent mid-major programs. I'd be ecstatic if the MVC were a good enough conference to have teams picked of for the Big-East and Pac-10. I wouldn't be happy about losing them, but I'd be happy we were that good. The teams the MWC is adding in Football would reallistically be a bigger win than the MVC adding Butler, though we don't have anyone to lose that's had the success of TCU.

UNLV was in what I like to call "house money" territory where they did so much goodwill to their resume early on they're allowed this mulligan. So ISU can still take pride for getting blown out by a quality team instead of just a good team
