Finally another game to watch, hope adjustments are being made in the offense and also hope the players have decided to give effort every game like they did at Duke , lets get 2 more wins before Christmas so we at least can have good thoughts during this holiday, nothing worse then talking about a loss around the family table.

Then BU should have almost beat Duke at Duke. What happened? This is a perfectly logical string of events that draws a conclusion that is 99% accurate. I don't get it!

                  No doubt real fan.

I would be happy with BU finishing the season at .500 amidst the unfavorable circumstances. Though Coach Les may have been partially responsible for a couple of our losses already, finishing .500 would be a great job IMO.

My Christmas wishes for BU hoops:
                  1) Offense gets going and scores 70+ in a game (and Wins!) before the New Year (hopefully an EARLY Christmas present!)
                  2) WE asserts himself on offense and attacks on both ends of the court. (We need him to have a good season to feel good heading into next season)
                  3) DSE doesn't have any more injuries this season and starts playing to his potential (some of us thought he'd be a 1st-team-MVC player by next season)
                  4) Our avg. margin of getting outrebounded is at 3 or less during MVC season. (Would this be considered a miracle?)
                  5) BU regains some home-court advantage - maybe winning 6 Valley games?

                            The Storyline
Bradley will be trying to snap a five-game losing streak Monday night when the Braves host Jackson State at Carver Arena ... The five-game skid is Bradley's longest since the Braves endured a six-game slide from Dec. 19, 2007-Jan. 8, 2008 and matches the longest non-conference losing streak in Jim Les' nine years as head coach (Dec. 10-Dec. 27, 2002) ... Bradley has not lost six consecutive non-conference games since dropping the final five non-conference games in December 1999 and the 2000-01 season opener.

                            11-Day Break
The 11 days between the Dec. 8 game at #1 Duke and Monday's game versus Jackson State is Bradley's longest in-season break since a 14-day gap in 2000 between wins versus UAB (Dec. 5) and Western Illinois (Dec. 20) ... The Braves also benefitted from 11-day breaks between the 2006 MVC Tournament championship game March 5 and their first round NCAA Tournament upset of #12 Kansas March 17, as well as the 2008 MVC Tournament and their first-round win against Cincinnati in the inaugural CBI.

                            Coaching Connection
Bradley has never faced Jackson State in a men's basketball game, but the two programs do have a connection ... First-year Bradley assistant Willie Scott got his coaching start as an "advisory" assistant at Jackson State for the 2007-08 season ... In his one season at JSU, Scott developed specialized training programs for individual workouts and prepared scouting reports, helping the Tigers reach the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament championship game.

                            Against the SWAC
Monday's game will be just the fourth in Bradley's history against a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference ... The Braves are 3-0 all-time against Alcorn State, the only other SWAC team Bradley has faced ... Prior to beating Alcorn State, 95-68, Dec. 29, 2003 in the second round of the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, the two previous games in the series were played during the 1983-84 and 1984-85 seasons at Carver Arena.

                            Les Anniversary
Monday's game versus Jackson State will fall on the 27th anniversary of Jim Les' first game as a Bradley player ... A transfer from Cleveland State, Les began his Bradley playing career Dec. 20, 1983 versus East Carolina, helping the Braves to a 66-41 victory by recording five points, eight assists and five steals in his debut ... Les is looking for his first coaching win on the anniversary of his Braves debut, however, as Bradley has lost each of its three previous Dec. 20 games.
