I don't have to see the 28.5", nor do I even have to take a single shot. Just holding it in my hands before I shoot, the difference is very noticable to me. (and it drives me bananas!)

    2. Something very similar happened in one of the grand slams this year. I want to say it was the US Open but I'm not sure...I do remember it was a women's match and the service boxes were not big enough and it caused double faults galore, and the players were protesting profusely!
Big Lance I agree with you . We will have to disagree with Tornado on this one. I worked almost 2000 games in my career and have seeen bits and pieces of a whole lot more then that and I promise you it is easy and should not happen at the HS or college level.

Maybe the ball felt "just right" to Sanzere. And then in denial and not wanting to admit his error, it went on for too long til FINALLY it was corrected. LOL!

This should never happen! If the players complained then you should have common sense and look into it! I'd have to believe they would know. Did someone let their ego get in the way? You would have to believe that was the case.

Remember the game that this thread highlights where the Illini used the wrong sized ball for the first 7 minutes before the error was noticed.

Here's a game in the Georgia High School State Playoffs...
Erroneously, the court was set up improperly with the wrong dimensions and by the time they noticed it, it was too late to completely remove the floor and replace it...
But the error did not set well with all coaches - the free throw lines were farther than the standard 15 feet and one coach said it caused a problem for his kids

So they screwed up and placed the baskets too far back and in the wrong place making free throws an extra foot longer or so, but because they screwed up on both ends, and played 14 entire games with the incorrect court setup and basket location, they claim it was equally unfair for both teams in each game, and they don't see any reason to adjust the outcome or do anything about their screwup.
As the one coach said, of course it would affect teams that shoot more perimeter shots, or who had more free throws. What a bunch of yokels. I feel bad for the kids, some of whom will always wonder if they might have won if the people in charge had been competent.
