My left butt cheek it's not a year-to-year thing. We've been flying by the seat of our pants 7.5 out of 9 years.
It's lip service. Nothing more, nothing less. What part of illegal don't you understand?

I am neither a JL-hater nor JL-supporter, but of those 7.5 years in 9 did he have a full roster to work with. How many of us could do our jobs efficiently if we showed up one day & they had taken our computer and gave us a pen & three part forms to fill out? Then the next day took our desk?
Right now I'm of the same mindset that I was in when Mo's tenure was coming down the homestretch. I respected him as a man and developer of young men, but had seen everything he had to offer as a coach and thought maybe a change would be a good thing.
I would absolutely love to see what a JL coached team could do with a full healthy roster. By my memory the last time that happened BU finished in a sweet 16 run, but only after some middling performances in early conference play that same year. To me, JL is a hard working, clean cut, class individual, but maybe it's time for a change. I was hoping the change in adding experienced/respected assistants would be sufficient and I'm willing to see if the balance of the season supports or refutes that hope.

he did leave his starters in their jacking shots and 3's right to the end..with a freaking 40 pt lead!.....
Andre Dawkins, who had already hit EIGHT 3-pointers and had 28 points, was still jacking threes in the final minute of the game, when the lead was 33 pts!!!!!
Now -- are you gonna tell me he wasn't padding stats when he jacked 3 shots in the final 3 minutes with a 33-36 pt lead, and all three of them were within 13-15 seconds into the shot clock and the guy already had 28 points in the book! Nope -- it does border on a little bit of ego here.......
Not trying to defend Coach K but just pointing out a fact:
The record for Most 3-point Field Goals by a Duke player is Shane Battier vs. Princeton (11/14/2000) - 9. Maybe they were trying to tie a record? I understand most coaches don't care about records, or even know what they are, but he may have left Dawkins in for one more 3-point goal??It's not Business, It's Personal

In addition to the previously mentioned teaching points, I also believe his philosophy is deeply rooted in respect for others.
His actions state that he respects Bradley as a D1 team. He respects our desire to play a full 40 minutes against the defending national champion.
To play less than his best for 40 minutes would be a slap in the face to Bradley and the fans at the game.

Duke only has 12 different player who have played even a minute in a game this year...
and last night Coach K went with only nine guys (Irving injured) so there were two guys who did not play who have played in other games.
But the play-by-play does indeed confirm that FOUR of the starters were still in there in the final 3 minutes of the game...
The only starter who didn't play that deep into the game was Singler who left at 6:01 when the lead was 35 -- and he was done for the night.
