Don't worry, our recruits usually are not as good as "they" say they are either!
That is painfully obvious with Brown and Maniscalco down. Other than Warren the cupboard is pretty bare.
Dodie is OK but, not as advertised.
    After that??????????????????

After that a couple of young players who are playing outside of their comfort zone for the time being.

There are one or two players that have disappointed me this year but that is par for a MVC recruit.

Just curious PTown, what are the 3 recruiting sites you looked at for your info?

Also, you mentioned that JW is a poor defender. He is not.

ESPN Chicago Boys Basketball All-Area Team 2010-11

Johnny Hill, Glenbard East, Senior, Guard

A two-time all-area selection, Hill followed a strong junior year with an even bigger senior one. He averaged 20.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists while helping the Rams downstate for the first time since 1964. He??™ll play at Illinois State next season.

???I think he??™s been one of most unsung players in his class,??? City/Suburban Hoops Report recruiting analyst Joe Henricksen said. ???He??™s highly overlooked and not talked about enough. The kid is an absolute basketball player who does so many things on both ends of the court. He??™s unselfish and finds ways to make big plays in big moments.???
          Nick Zeisloft, Lyons, Senior, Guard

Zeisloft was again one of the top shooters and scorers in the area. He averaged 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals while helping Lyons to another winning season. He shot 53 percent from the field and 40 percent form 3-point range. He??™ll play at Illinois State next season.

???He??™s one of the top five shooters in the state,??? City/Suburban Hoops Report recruiting analyst Joe Henricksen said. ???He??™s become more than just a shooter. He??™s evolved into an all-around scorer. He was the go-to guy for a really good team.???

ISU recruit Hill is excelling just like ISU recruit Justin Dentmon did and kinda like ISU recruit Kenyon Smith did last year in the juco Nationals

..and wasn't Justin Clark likewise one of the best shooters in the history of Missouri State HS basketball??

..just sparring with ya 45oseoj.. - maybe at least one of us will dodge Thursday next year...

Not when he's got 2 babies under 1 year old to take care of!

But seriously- Jonny Hill is a good player who will help ISU in a couple years. Zeisloft had a good high school career, but I predict he'll redshirt next year. Bradley looked at him and passed.

Just like any other Redbird that excelled before they got on campus.

If by "best" you mean made the most 3s then yes, the best.
                    Quanity/Quality in this situation.

I'd say one of us is looking a little better in that category right now.

So do I...2 under 16 months old.

I still stand by my original post. When I wrote it, ISU was 6-2, well before the wheels fell off the wagon. Zeisloft has definitely improved year to year, and may have upside, but I keep hearing about how poor his defense is. I would be shocked if he makes an impact before 2014. Hill and Moore look great on paper, but so have many other ISU recruits in the past few years, many of whom haven't panned out (on the other hand, Moore may be the biggest risk/reward prospect I've seen come through the Valley in a while).

Trust me, I LOVE it when both ISU and BU are good, because those rivalry games mean more when we aren't playing for the rights to a 9th place tie-breaker. As a more than casual observer, there are problems in Normal that need remediation. 45otseoj, as you probably realize, a lineup of Carmichel, Ekey, Clark, Blue, and Cousin would be a last place team again.

ISU's success next season is way too heavily dependent on the newcomers, a VERY scary proposition. Granted, Bradley may be in the same boat, but that's not the point of this post.

By help do mean start, play significant minutes, simply play at all?

Hill reminds me a lot of Walt with a little less strength and a little more court savvy. I predict that he will come in and play a similar role, but he may need more time in weight room. It really depends on if he can get to the rim in college in the same ways that he did in high school. Justin Clark was a player that didn't make that transition very quickly.

Zeisloft may be redshirt cantidate, but he fills a desperate need as a 3 point shooter. He's long and can rebound too. I've heard one very good resource compare his game to Jeremy Crouch's game coming out of high school.

Another thing about these two is that they played on very successful teams this season. Hill played along side NIU commit Zach Miller, and Zeisloft was a cog in the machine that was Lyons Township; five 6'4ish starters who could all shoot and rebound. Both player's stats may have been deflated while their team's records were inflated.

Also, Hill will be in Peoria this weekend playing for Glenbard East. They play Simeon on Friday night; a great test for Johnny.

An interesting scenario: Simeon and Warren are the likely victors on Friday night which will set up a 3rd place game between Glenbard East and Normal Community. That match-up would plot Johnny Hill against Normal's Anthony Beane Jr. Beane's father is an assistant coach at ISU.

Moore will be good, and I haven't seen much (in person or in film) to scare me away from that prediction. Fast, smart, great passer, great shooter, and great leader.

No doubt, but I also have no doubt that we won't start that lineup.

When you watch as much bad basketball as I did this season, you're ready for some newe face. Trust me. And since you brought it up, here is the list of next year's newcomers:
                              Moore - freshman
                              Hill - freshman
                              Zesiloft - freshman
                              Threloff - RS freshman
                              Allen - Transfer (Minnesota)
and a player or 2 yet to be named.

The one that has won 5 in a row.

                                I would assume so.

Good athlete (looong) who seems to have a problem with getting the ball to go in the basket the 3 times I've seen him. Good passer in traffic.

Advertised as a PG in the summer but plays quite a bit of wing for his high school.

                                Offer from Iowa
