7-0 no doubt in my mind. First of all the team morale seemed to take a big hit when TB was announced out. I think before that the team/fan morale was super high about this season. One that was announced it was a major deflator even if you tried not to let it effect you. I'm sure it was the same for the players. So add that on top of what you lose in production, it's an enormous loss. Then you lose your best leader. wow.

Probably with a completely healthy SM alone, we would be 7-0. Of course our competition hasn't been great, but I think with the positive attitude the fan base/players had this summer before the TB announcement, we would have really beat some of these teams pretty bad. It's a real shame to think what this team might have been...

Provided we got those 2 guys back next year and they don't miss a beat, why can't we be as good or better than we could have been THIS season? We only lose AW and DD is replaceable in my mind with our good, young guards. A nice freshman class coming in that may take some time to gel.
Now the question looms as to whether the coaches can take all the talent and get them to gel and have the right combinations. Just my take.

Oh I agree. I think 3 of our 4 freshman could contribute right away from what I've read...I think we could be even better next year. It's just a shame it always seems to be pushed back a year. It's a shame for AW, DD, and JL too. But yes DD's leadership and play can probably be replaced by DSE, and hopefully SH, RA, and DS can shoot enough 3's (I've read they are good shooters) to replace AW's outside shooting. That might be my one concern for next year, but between those 3, SM, and WL having decent outside shots hopefully we will be fine. Plus JE, DSE, and MK could still develop good shooting touch. Because I think big men can be covered by JP, TB, AD, SH, MK next year even if WE/AT still do not step up.

But this is IF TB is fine and healthy. And that scares me, I really hope he turns out fine.

What would our recored have been if Chuck B was still an asst?...who knows?
I agree... I hope that we would have been 6-1 or 7-0, but the way we played early this year..... I just don't know with any certainty....

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

played earlier..without TB and a not very healthy SM...I still think with both 100% we do not miss a beat and win all games this far....now Utah would be a different matter...not to mention Duke..
