BU Red-White game

With the BU Red -White game friday, I have a question---
Can redhsirted players play in the scrimmage? I recall in past years that players who were not eligible to play in the regular games did play in the Red-White game. I think Daniel Ruffin played in the Red-White his first year, after he was ruled ineligible to play that year. But I think I heard that the NCAA had ruled that they could not do that anymore.
So would Jeremy Fears be eligible to play Friday? I hear he has looked good in practices.

Good question about Fears...since this is a scrimmage I can't see why he wouldn't be allowed to play. Guess we'll see Friday unless someone knows.

Sure, it might be great to see him play, but what purpose is it serving in regards to THIS season? The only scenario where I think playing Fears and Brown would be useful is in a 1st team 2006 vs Fears, Brown, and 2nd teamers. Beyond that, it seems like it would be nothing more than an injury risk for 2 guys that can't help us this year, and only prohibit other guys who can play this year from getting enough minutes.

Fears and RB need all the playing time against D1 players they can get IMO. JF is practicing with them anyway, why not play in a game....I see your point just not sure I agree.
