My original estimate in that early poll was an optimistic 27-3 but that was with TB and SM (I believe that we'd be 6-0 today if a healthy guard had taken Sam's place earlier, I think that was a coaching mistake) and a belief that our bigs were better and that we were going to be playing a different offensive scheme. So here's my new guess...
non-conference 7-5
conference 12-6
W/L before the MVC Tournament 19-11.
I have to believe that a couple players will step up and take advantage of the added playing time they will get with TB and SM out for the season. It will be interesting to see how he plays it tonight.
I came up with 14-16 in the regular season looking at the schedule.
I'm not that concerned with W/L, I want to see effort from the kids (50/50 balls, rebounds, defense) no matter what's going on. I want to see the coaches tinker with lineups and work with an eye to development rather than win-now philosophy. I think it's academic and we will see MK and AT a lot more anyway, but if the response to SM being out is 32 minutes each for DSE, DD, AW, and JE I might gnaw my own face off.

No need for that Fish7! I think that JE and WL will split up their 32 minutes!

I agree with you there...if I continue to see little coaching from the assistants, continued lack of change from JL, and the same old same old, I am resigned that he should not be here next season...
This is his shot really to change a lot of minds out there and prove that he can coah and can make changes on the fly
I'll say 5 games less than my lofty pre-season thoughts is what I'm looking for. We already used 2 of them, so that leaves 3 more surprises left. Both the players and coaches need to step up and take advantage of this unfortunate situation/opportunity. As a life long Rams fan, I'll never forget the day Trent green went down in the pre-season and someone named Kurt Warner stepped up out of nowhere and led us to the Superbowl...
I'm really intrigued how this will turn out and also hoping that I don't have to gnaw my face off in the process...
My hope is that BU will still find a way to finish Top 3 in MVC and find a way to a 20-win season and NIT..... and of course this would make Les MVC COY. For the record, this is not something I am counting on or would be willing to bet on.
