  • 24 Hour Rule

It's been over 24 hours since the EIU loss, and I think I have got all the frustration out of my system. JL and a lot of other coaches have a '24 hour rule', where you are allowed to think of/reflect on the game for 24 hours, and then it's back to work looking forward to the next game. As a fan, I think that's a good rule as well, and I am going to do my best to follow it.

We've got WCU coming up next week, our first true road test. If we win that game, we're essentially in the same spot as I thought we'd be after the HOF Classic - splitting the next 2 heading into the Utah game. We've got some things to fix, some things to work on. No time like the present to fix them. Onward and upward, let's go get WCU!

This would be a GREAT win for this team if we can get it. As I just stated on another thread, this would come close to making up for that debacle the other night. And most importantly, it would prove we can compete against good teams on the road, at least outside of Duke.

Let's go win this game Braves!

I had like a 44 hour no bradleyfans rule after that game.

Seriously, though, good call BradleyBrave. It's a long season, and no matter what happens I'll be a BU fan during and after, so here's to some better play and better results in the games ahead.

WCU lost to Mercer yesterday 71-66, and are 2-3 on the season. So they're beatable. They play again today against Gardner-Webb, and tomorrow against William and Mary, so they also could be a bit fatigued when we see them on the 30th. It will be their 4th game in 5 days.

They say time heals all wounds.....

but not home loses to Quincy and EIU...

I still have indigestion after consuming these two turkeys from BU...

One would hope BU rises to the occasion vs WCU and provides some heartburn relief to this fan.

Everyone that we have played so far was beatable, I was one of the most optomistic fans until we lost to both Quincy and EIU, not anymore because I know our coach is going to continue to do the same things he has done by playing small and hoping for miracles instead of admitting his system is broken and needs help in changing it, if I felt like he was going to make system changes then I would feel much better but I have seen the same thing now for 5 seasons and nothing has changed, we have good enough players to be 6-0 , our defensive coach (platt) has done a good job and has given us a chance to win, our offense is a complete failure .

Is this a "must-win" game already? No way BU should ever lose to a team like WCU, even on the road (of course this should have held true for EIU & Quincy ). WCU lost some important senior leadership from last year's team...... We NEED to win this!

Never understood this sentiment....does or do some BU fans have "Notre Dame Itis" (thinking we should be at the top based on traditions that have long since passed) ?

We aren't some BCS powerhouse with a multi millions dollar budget. And we certainly haven't done a whole lot the last 10,11...years to make us some elite mid major powerhouse.

I agree there are SOME teams out there we should never lose to but I don't think we are THAT far above most teams on out sked save for the DII team and maybe Eastern Il.

Why exactly would beating Western Carolina be a GREAT win?

They were picked to finish 4th in the Southern Conference this year...they are 3-3 and have already lost to Mercer and Gardner-Webb this year...

Any road win is a nice win...I just think it is quite an overstatement to try and label this one as a GREAT win...

Well beating EIU at this point seems like it would have been a GOOD win, so a road win by default would have to be GREAT.

Let's just admit that if we lose to WCU, we can pretty much kiss any hopes of an At-Large Bid good-bye unless we beat Duke.
NOW is the time to get better, and we'd better be good tomorrow night! Wish I could give the seniors a pep-talk.

Any hopes of an at-large bid are gone. Completely. You're delusional if you think otherwise.

                          Yeah....just EIU alone is enough.

Right now, any BU win would be a GREAT win! Lets hope there is a great win in BU's future this week.

I'm not sure if I've ever agreed with one of your posts more than this. We should have beaten EIU, but pretending we're that much better than WCU while on the road is foolish.
