  • I Miss.... Chris Roberts, Theron Wilson, Zach Andrews Type Players

Not the root of our problems, but I miss the excitement type players who could lift the crowd and the team with their energy or an explosive dunk.

Can anyone on this current team dunk in game? A few times I really wish the players would just dunk the ball rather than miss a layup.

I think they miss Taylor Brown most of all.

Agree. If TB was healthy and playing, I don't see any way Bradley isn't 6-0 right now, with much better rebounding and inside scoring and defense, and fans are making their plans for the MVC tournament and postseason.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

TB is a good player, one of Bradley better players, but is not a "Super Star"

I wouldn't turn him into Lebron Friggin James if some BU fans need a major 'if only' to get through another season of low expectations.

It would be pretty amazing how TB playing would improve other BU players shooting % substantially, help BU players make more layups, improve their 3pt shooting %, reduce BU turnovers, make MK play better defense, improve SM's ankles, turn WE into a force in the paint, ressurect AT's career, restore DSE's game, make WL a seasoned veteran, and average 10-12 rebounds per game...

I don't even think John Wall would have been able to do that with BU.

BU's issues go far beyond TB's absence this year. Get real...

This is so crazy because I was just taking to a guy at the eastern game about this, stating that we have ONE dunk all year. Many highschool teams seem to have better athletes on their teams, I feel as if we are stuck with just a bunch of shooters, there has to be balance.

                Correct. But many will.

Western Carolina, Loyola, Eastern Illinois. Enough said.

IMO, this team, as well as last year's team, needs a Matt Salley type player. At first I wasn't a big MS fan but he soon won me over with his toughness who wouldn't me pushed around and was strong enough to follow through on layups.

If BU needs all these players or these "types" of players, then are we blaming the players???

I'm not blaming anyone, just making an observation that this year's team lacks the type of player we've been blessed with for the past few years. Heh, how many times has Snell said "Kaboomm!!" on the radio this season? Maybe once.

We could certainly win without them, which we have this season. But sometimes to get the crowd and team going, it'd be nice to have a guy who can do these things. Walt Lemon could probably grow into this person. He makes some spectatular drives, just needs to finish the layup or just dunk the ball at the end. heh.
