If my memory serves me right, it was Villanova who started that fight. Bradley was simply defending themselves on a hostile court. I had NO problem with what BU did that night.

NOT according to Billy Packer who all but called BU a bunch of thugs the next day on the game of the week.....when he stated something to the affect of a team like BU goes into Villinova with nothing to lose and picks some fights to see if they could knock out a few superstars.

IF Zobs and Deon doen't go down we take those guys out that night.....

Oh sorry....sammy is a mess and doing the best he can on bad ankles. Its simple....he's going to struggle some if not most nights.

Wasn't there a fight between BU and Villanova at the Civic Center as well

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

That's a major part of my point. They didn't back down. I don't know where I implied otherwise.

I remember that Nova game, and I seem to recall Deon being the one taken out with a very dirty elbow to the face on a rebound that cost him a few teeth.

Steve Lappas blamed the slick floor on his team getting embarrassed that Saturday afternoon and said he'd never return. He hasn't, and neither has Villanova. A great win that most people with JL blinders on forget about.

I believe that Kerry Kittles was on that Nova team... It was a good win no doubt.

Kerry Kittles was on the Villanova team when the fight in Philly occurred, in the 1995-96 season.

However, he entered the NBA in 1996.

'Nova was scheduled to visit Bradley the following season, but after the fight, both coaches decided to delay the series until all the players involved in the fight were gone.

Therefore, the game was postponed to the 1997-98 season, after Kittles had graduated.

Michael Bradley (who went on to a stable NBA career) was a freshman that season.

BU opened 31-5 and never relented in that game.

It was a win that certainly typified BU hoops over the past two coaching regimes - Great wins (Michigan and Villanova) followed by unfathomable defeats (@ WIU following the Michigan win). It got tiring then, and it's still tiring now.

Will Sam play tomorrow night or is his ankle bad enough to be thinking about shutting it down and possibly red-shirting?

Despite rumors, I hear he is planning on playing if possible.

I would hope it would not come to a RS. Regardless, isn't it still early enough in the season where he could accept it?

                            EDIT: Thanks DC.

I am not confident in anybody else playing the point, DSE seems to be the next logical guy but the way the offense is set up (lots of passing in the perimeter, pass to big guy in the middle, back to the corner, etc) I am not so sure how this team can climb and claw its way back if it is down by a certain margin with less than five to go in the second half.

Without him, there would not have been a win over USC when he made those three baskets. It's anecdotal sure, but I will be a happy clam if this team can somehow win the games they should win, and maybe try its best against Duke.

Here is a tweet from Sammy from just a few minutes ago-

Headin to the airport...western carolina on the menu

It sounds from this like he is going to Cullowhee, NC to play.

This tweet from earlier this afternoon also suggests he isn't ready to sit out if he can avoid it-

Heading to prac then western carolina tonight to get this W

Ok thanks... I remember that now... When we went to the game at Carver, we were wondering if there was going to be another fight... That was the part that I was confused about...
